Metalcore bands are being flooded with fake AI-generated songs on Spotify

Reports are beginning to surface of AI-generated songs uploaded to several Spotify profiles attributed to more than 20 metalcore bands, including Fit for an Autopsy, The Ghost Inside, Currents, Fit For a King, Alpha Wolf, The Devil Wears Prada, ten56., Memphis May Fire, Malevolence, After The Burial, The Browning, Spite, Born Of Osiris, Like Moths To Flames, Bury Tomorrow, Imminence, Silent Planet, and Caliban, among others.
The hack has resulted in the unauthorized release or scheduling of AI-generated music on these bands' official Spotify pages. Confirmation by the bands on their respective social media accounts has shed more light on the situation, warning their fans not to engage with the music posted to their profiles.
It seems evident at this point given the similarity of the images used that a fraudulent artist posing as these bands continues to upload the songs through what Caliban calls a "dubious distributor" with no checks and balances on Spotify's side, an issue that the band's teams are forced to address on their own.
Spotify has so far not commented on the situation.
The hack was confirmed by Fit For A King on their Instagram:
To avoid confusion: Ourselves and many others have had our Spotify pages hacked. The new songs that popped up today are not any of us, and we are trying to figure out what happened just as much as you all are. Hope this helps!
Caliban shared:
Dear Fans,
A song has been released via our Spotify artist profile that is not ours.
A fraudulent artist posing as Caliban has uploaded an Al-generated song via a dubious distributor that is now scheduled for release.
Caliban is not affiliated with this release.
We and our team are working on resolving this issue.
This appears to have occurred with various bands throughout the scene at this time as labels and managements are committed to rectifying the situation.
That being said, we thank you for your ongoing support of real, handcrafted music written by human beings.

Born of Osiris said:
Reminder that these are not Born of Osiris songs. The machines from SKYNET have become self-aware and corrupted our Spotify.
The actual new BOO single is called "In Desolation." Run it up!

Like Moths To Flames shared an email similar to those many other bands are receiving.

Post CommentEasiest music for ai to replicate obviously. Probably better than any of these dorks can do
When all of their music literally sounds the same, does this even matter? They should be thankful someone is doing the heavy lifting for them
Add Currents and Siamese to the list. I hid the songs, figure that's the best I can do
Proof that artificial intelligence lacks intelligence if this is the music it's making.
Like anyone gives a shit? Metalcore is trash anyway.
Literally all of the bands listened are shitty gay ass metalcore bands whose music sounds like it was made by AI anyway. Just goes to show how easy it is to make this generic crap. Go listen to a real metalcore band like Heaven Shall Burn you wankers.
That's what you get for making studio plugin-ass music.
I'm not familiar with any of the bands listed. Something tells me it's Hot-Topic-core however. I guess you need to be 30 or younger for this ride. 🤷🏻♂️
When your music is so fake and quantized that people can mistake AI songs for "real" songs......
That's what you get for making studio plugin-ass music. That's what you get for making studio plugin-ass music. That's what you get for making studio plugin-ass music. That's what you get for making studio plugin-ass music.
Emmure was actually on this and it wasn't reported… midjourney prompt vanflip x1000
The Chinese attacking our strategic reserve of mentally retarded riffs for hurt and horny boys. Sad.
Artificial intelligence two words combined that can't make sense...
"Artificial intelligence two words combined that can't make sense..." sorta like your first name and the word "smart."
They're just pissed cause the ai songs are better than their songs
As gay as all these bands are, the AI music was AI power metal. Hope you're not all outing yourselves as smelly turbovirgins AND AI-bros
Who cares? All of those bands suck except Calibans early stuff
Rick's Stalker here. I saw Rick at the Elementary school the other day in Tampa, Florida. He was sitting in his Car and waiting for the school kids going home. Rick was eating some Nachos while he was waiting. Then finally school ended and a group of 6 year old boys walked by his Car. Rick was yelling at the boys "get in my Car boiis, I have delicious Nachos for you Kids and maybe something more If you know what I mean...". The Boys however ignored Rick and rumor has Rick went into the school with his gun killing all teachers cause He was so mad the boys ignored his offer. It was the last time I'd ever seen him
Rick here again. When AI is going to be able to start generating nachos? Asking for a friend. A fat one.
Todd Jones, here. I just want the AI to know that They Will Never Be One of Us...
OH STFU CALIBAN your shit was always AI generated metalcore anyway.
AI could never replicate the lobotomising feeling of a Born of Osiris song being played within earshot.
india should be great firewalled from the rest of the internet
################# ################# Someone post links so I can listen
nothing more metal than having your team work on an issue together
"I'm not familiar with any of the bands listed. Something tells me it's Hot-Topic-core however. I guess you need to be 30 or younger for this ride. 🤷🏻♂️" Zoomer detected. You weren't there.
there's like 5 fake Deadguy singles on spotify since Spring. Simulakra had the same shit happen a week before their album dropped. Vulture had a bunch, and I guess Metal Blade spotted it and they got taken down.
