The Haunted drummer Adrian Erlandsson recently shared a post to his Instagram informing fans that he is currently working on drum for the band's next record. The last time the Swedish metal group released a body of work was back in 2017 when the band released their ninth studio album Strength in Numbers.
Guitarist Ola Englund originally announced they were working on via his YouTube back in 2022 and it would look as if the band is in writing mode at this time. No timeline has been given on when the effort will be released.
Erlandsson shared the following:
Working on drums for the next album of @thehauntedrocks
@britishdrumco @sabiancymbals @evansdrumheads @vicfirth @czarciekopyto

Post CommentGreat news! Wish Anders would come back tho...his riffs have that melancholic edge.
anonymous 2 hours ago Great news! Wish Anders would come back tho...his riffs have that melancholic edge. ^ true, but at least he's back in AT THE GATES Truly, can't wait for some new The Haunted.. they still got most of the old lineup plus Ola.. no riffmaster like Jensen but different.. groovy and heavy as f*ck
Saw them on the One Kill Wonder tour with Kataklysm, Bleeding Through, and Shai Hulud. Bleeding Through were getting booed during their guitar "solos". Lmaoooo. Great show though.
^ I saw that tour in Austin. Shai Hulud sucked. ^^haha me too in Virginia and yes Shai Hulud sucked ass. Spent most of the show criticizing the crowd and jumping around on stage like their music was exciting. Haunted was incredible.
The Haunted absolutely SMOKES At The Gates. The first Haunted album in 99 alone is better than the entire ATG catalog.
^^^ shit I think I agree. I'll put on Haunted records front to back. I don't think I've listened to any ATG besides SOTS all the way through. The newer records are meh at best.
