Update: Both Alesana and It Dies Today have also dropped since this article was originally published. Their statements are below. We will keep you updated.

Update #2: Mysteriously Sunday's line up has been removed for the event's social media. Though no word on why has been given. However Letterkills and  Lightworker have dropped as well. Lightworker has released a statement and currently is on tour with Bloodlines and American Arson all scheduled to perform Sunday. Though Bloodlines and American Arson have yet to mention anything regarding their participation.

Update #3: Upon A Burning Body, who is scheduled to play today, has dropped from the festival.

Update #4: Just a few moments ago Michigan-based metalcore unit, Of Virtue, is the first to provide confirmation that Capulet Fest's third and final day has been canceled. The band was scheduled to perform on the final day but will no longer be.

The band shared the following:

To all of our friends who stuck it our til the end to see us at Capulet Fest…

We regret to inform you all that we've just been notified that Sunday has been canceled.

As frustrating as the situation may be, we thank you for all of your love and support.

See you all soon.

Update #5: The festival organizer Capulet Entertainment shared the following:

Sunday is no longer an option. We fought. We wrestled with obstacle after obstacle. We became a target. We became hated, even when we were doing our best to save something and give you the best show possible. No one sees the sacrifice. All they do is judge. We did everything we could. We hope you had fun. We did our best. Thank you to everyone who came out and had a blast. We hope you enjoyed the meet and greets. We hope you enjoyed the music. Goodbye.

Update #6: Following the cancelation of Capulet Fest more news is coming in, during Live Kills set which took place on the Montague stage from 4:30-5:00PM based off the schedule, venue security stopped the show two songs into the band's performance and cleared the room.

The band took to livestream on Instagram to let fans know what had just happened, with one of the members claiming that security said "the dude didn't pay the rent and made everyone leave".

Though unconfirmed, rumors are circulating that promoters had not provided proper payment for stages at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park, hence the venue change.

Update #7: As of the evening of Sunday, June 30th, It looks like the festival's Facebook page and Twitter/X account has been deleted or hidden. However, the Capulet Entertainment Facebook page and both Instagrams are still active for the time being.

Capulet Fest is facing major backlash after last-minute changes to its lineup and venue. Initially set for June 28th-30th at Thompson Speedway in Thompson, CT with a capacity of 13,000, the festival has now been downsized to The Webster in Hartford, CT, which holds 1,200. This announcement was made just a day before the festival's scheduled start.

The venue released a statement via social media:

ATTENTION

Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park would like to confirm that the Capulet Fest is no longer happening at our facility. All additional details about the future of the event will be coming directly from Capulet.

Thompson is not affiliated, associated, authorized, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected with Capulet Fest or Capulet Entertainment.

Capulet would then confirm that news and inform ticket holders that the venue would be moving to The Webster with the following:

We are moving Capulet Fest to The Webster this weekend! Don't freak. Lineup is coming today!

A publicist from Cowgirlzen Entertainment Publicity who partnered with Capulet Fest also cut ties with the festival citing "no information or communication from the promoter" earlier in the week. The released a statement today as well:

To the press list regarding the festival this weekend.

On Wednesday morning 6/26/24 due to absolutely no information or communication from the promoter responsible for the 3 day festival, I made the decision to no longer work on this project, and notified everyone on the media list I had been given only two weeks prior.

Please contact Capulet Entertainment regarding the festival and anything associated with it.

Following the venue change 20 bands would pull of of the festival citing multiple reasons, the list of bands is:

Nothing More, who were originally set to headline the closing night, publicly revealed the issues. The band claimed the promoters lost access to the original venue, and fans were being shortchanged on previously purchased meet and greets and other perks.

Nothing More posted on their social media tonight, June 27th:

To our fans who were planning on attending Capulet fest —

Despite our best efforts, we unfortunately we won't be playing this show. The band and our crew were all in Nashville rehearsing when we got the news that the promotor had lost access to the venue. Capulet Fest were able to find an alternate location for Friday and Saturday, but not for Sunday when we were scheduled to play.

Earlier today we were sent a proposed statement from the festival that was a blatant attempt to minimize their responsibility for the situation and even more egregious than that, it offered no solutions for refunds for people who bought single day tickets for Sunday, nor did it offer refunds for people that bought VIP Meet & Greet tickets through the Capulet Fest website. This is simply an unacceptable way of doing business and we have lost all respect for the way they are handling the situation. While we may have lost tens of thousands of dollars in crew costs, flights etc, this is nothing compared to a fan losing their hard earned money they spent on tickets to see a show and have a great time with friends and family.

We will continue to apply pressure on the promotors to do the right thing and hope that you will join us in pursuing the festival to issue refunds to all those who deserve them. We are so sorry to have such bad news on the eve of releasing our new album and we look forward to seeing you on tour as soon as possible.

Capulet Fest, still chugging forward, has released the daily line up for each day and shared the following:

We are stoked about our intimate, unique Sunday lineup! It isn't lost on us that losing the ultimate homies in Senses Fail and Nothing More is a letdown, we know that what remains is still worth making memories! We chose to keep the fest happening. Sometimes in life, you need to pivot. Our new venue is amazing, and we're so grateful to The Webster for opening their doors. Come out. Come rock. Get sweaty.
