The Body & Dis Fig announce collab album and release new single, "Dissent, Shame"

Before the debut release of their collaborative album Orchards of a Futile Heaven on February 23rd through Thrill Jockey, The Body & Dis Fig unveil a new single titled "Dissent, Shame." The track moves beyond mere noise or abrasive textures, conveying intense emotions through a minimalist drone dirge that gradually transforms into a captivating choral passage. Dis Fig's voice, infused with raw vulnerability and a desire for catharsis, seeks escape from oppressive atmospheres, almost as if determined to find relief from guilt.

Dis Fig spoke about the new single:

It's about the act of abandonment, and the guilt and shame that comes with it. Running away from something, seemingly towards your own safety, but as your conscience picks you apart the entire way.

I love the balance. You could never connect to just a machine as well as you could a human. Which is why the combination is so potent for me. I don't want to hide. I think nothing connects you more empathetically than another human's voice.
