Modern Life Is War present 'Tribulation Worksongs', announce East Coast shows

Kicking off 2024, Modern Life Is War introduces the Tribulation Worksongs sessions as a single 12"EP/Digital album. This release consolidates all three 7"EPs along with "End Times Dub," a dub version of "Feels Like End Times," creatively reimagined by Urian Hackney (Rough Francis, Iggy Pop, The Armed, etc). The packaging for this release features a collaborative visual effort from Jeffrey Eaton, Thomas Hooper, and J. Bannon.
Tribulation Worksongs was recorded by Luke Tweedy at Flat Black Studios, mixed by Kurt Ballou at God City Studios, and mastered by Brad Boatright at Audiosiege. Originally released as a series of three 7"EPs between 2018 and 2021, the lyrics and credits for each song were typed by vocalist/lyricist Jeff Eaton on his 1950s Royal "Quiet De Luxe" typewriter during the initial presentation. These typewritten elements were later hand-stamped on the front and back covers of the EP by artist J. Bannon, resulting in each cover being entirely unique. Additionally, the labels on the vinyl were hand-stamped before final assembly by the team at Deathwish, which will see physical release on March 22nd.

Modern Life Is War are also planning to perform at a handful of dates on the East Coast in May later this year. Last year drummer Luke Rauch was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer, however, based on the last update given by Rauch on July 17th seems that things progressed well, well enough for the band to hit the road this May with Jaye Jayle and Ammo on select dates.
The update posted in July 2023 reads:
Hello community - Luke here. I wanted give you all another long overdue update.
In June, my oncologist switched me from oral meds to a slow drip IV that I take home & wear for 48 hrs. The oral chemo meds I was on were taking a toll on my hands and feet, to the point of having a hard time to walking. With the new IV med, some side effects are a little more intense but manageable. My treatment was extended a bit but my last will be 7/19. After treatment will be monitoring with bloodwork & scans.
Thank you for all the generosity & kind words for me and my family. It's hard to express how helpful the donations have been to us. We are very grateful to you all.
P.S. Don't be afraid of getting a colonoscopy! It could save your life.
…
For our community that live in Iowa: if you want to get a colonoscopy and have to pay out of pocket, go to Iowa Clinic. It will save you thousands of dollars vs. a hospital system!!
