Black Flag line up 40th anniversary 'My War' U.S. tour

Formed in Hermosa Beach, California, in 1976, the seminal hardcore punk band Black Flag is hitting the road for a celebration of their influential 1984 album, My War.
Founded by guitarist and primary songwriter Greg Ginn, who remains the sole continuous member, Black Flag will perform two sets at each stop. The first set will feature a playthrough of the album My War, and the second set will showcase a variety of tracks from their discography.
Black Flag has seven studio albums and two live albums, all released on Ginn's independent label, SST Records. Vocalist Mike Vallely, who first appeared with the band as a guest in 2003, became their fifth vocalist in 2014 and will be leading the charge on this tour.
The tour kicks off in San Diego on December 29th, 2023. After their show in El Paso, TX on January 21st, the band will have a break before resuming the tour on March 7th in Boise, ID. The tour then concludes in Austin on March 24th. Tickets are available now.

Saw black flag at Union Transfer, 2013. Adolescents played at the Barbary earlier that night because Greg Ginn hid in his bus and wouldn't talk to them. Steve Soto and Tony f*cking destroyed the place, stage dives, no barricades, it was wild. Flag show was awful after everyone walked over
Saw this lineup on the band a couple of years ago and, no lie, it was one of the worst shows I've ever seen, and I absolutely love all eras of Black Flag. Complete garbage.

Black Flag has been dogshit since Chavo left. Their best era was during the filming of Decline. Flag, on the other hand, was killing it with Keith and Bill back in the fold. I'm not certain what Jerry Brown wavelength Greg Ginn is on right now, but it ain't good. I predict a lot of empty rooms on this tour.
Like Jerry's Misfits, they will draw at least 500 because of the name and with 3-5 pay to play locals to cover the guarantee. Promoters aren't stupid and the band's agent isn't either. The tour will do fine and kill it merch sells around the tune of 3k each night.
