Doom metalers, Conan, plan to part ways with their current bassist Chris Fielding. Fielding is stepping back to focus on other aspects of his life but will continue in his role as the band's producer. Fielding entered the band to replace former bassist Phil Coumbe in 2013.

While the English band has not yet revealed a replacement for the bassist position, they assure fans that an announcement will be made "in due course."

Despite relinquishing his role in future albums and tours, Fielding will maintain his position as the band's producer. Fans can still catch him on stage during Conan's 2024 UK tour.

The band statement reads:

Nothing lasts forever…..

It is with sadness that we announce the imminent departure of Chris Fielding from Conan.
Chris joined the band late 2013, as a replacement for Phil Coumbe, and established himself as a very important member both in his role as performer and also as producer. Together we have enjoyed many enjoyable trips and experiences and created music that we are very proud of. We have become close friends during that time and so of course we support Chris's wish to focus on other areas of his life. He will of course remain as our producer.

Chris's last shows with Conan will come during our upcoming UK tour in March 2024. Make sure you come along and say goodbye.

We have appointed Chris's successor and will make an announcement on that in due course.

Hail Conan.
