Axl Rose faces lawsuit over alleged 1989 sexual assault by former Penthouse model
Sheila Kennedy, a former Penthouse model, has filed a lawsuit in New York Supreme Court against Guns N' Roses vocalist Axl Rose, alleging he sexually assaulted her in 1989 in New York.
Kennedy, then 26, met Rose at a nightclub and claims she was assaulted in his hotel room later that night. In the lawsuit, Kennedy alleges Rose invited her to his hotel for a party, where he provided cocaine and alcohol.
She claims Rose kissed her forcefully after she left the bathroom, an encounter she initially did not resist. However, Kennedy asserts she did not consent to the subsequent sexual acts.
The suit details a violent episode where Rose allegedly dragged Kennedy from a friend's room back to his, tied her hands, and assaulted her.
Rose's attorney, Alan Gutman, denies the incident, suggesting the timing of the claim is suspect and that Rose has no memory of meeting Kennedy.
The lawsuit accuses Rose of assault, battery, and emotional distress, linked to Kennedy's ongoing PTSD, anxiety, and depression, impacting her career.
The case has been filed as a result of the Adult Survivors Act in New York, allowing historic sexual misconduct claims to be filed.
