Stabbing vocalist Bridget Lynch fills in for Suffocation's Ricky Myers due to illness

On Tuesday, November 14th, while in Detroit, MI, Suffocation's lead vocalist, Ricky Myers, became unwell and deemed himself unfit to perform that evening. Just moments before the scheduled set, members Terrance Hobbs and Charlie Errigo of Suffocation approached Bridget Lynch, the vocalist for Stabbing, and requested her assistance in performing several songs from their setlist to avoid canceling the show.

Lynch, already familiar with most of the band's material, having provided guest vocals for the band the night before on the track "Liege on Inveracity," willingly stepped in. The group delivered a partial set featuring both full band and instrumental tracks. Lynch joined them for notable singles such as "Catatonia," "Pierced from Within," "Funeral Inception," "Liege of Inveracity," and "Infecting the Crypts." The remaining tracks, predominantly newer ones, were performed instrumentally.

Although Myers, still unwell, has not yet returned to the stage, Lynch has been handling dual responsibilities, serving as the frontwoman for both Suffocation and her own band, Stabbing.

For a visual experience of the performance, you can view the video below.

Hopefully Myers recovers soon, the band is scheduled to be on the road alongside Incantation, Skeletal Remains, and Stabbing until early December. See the remaining dates below.

Death metal, the only genre where the vocalist is the most replaceable person in the band.

I can guarantee he did not catch an illness from my fresh fish market. Our product is checked daily for freshness.

Can we just have her replace every dm vocalist?

Should have quit with Frank. This is just embarrassing for a band who has been around 30+ years.

Ricky Myers is literally the drummer of caligorge. You better put only respect on his name

anonymous 11/16/2023 5:15:45 PM

Yep Ricky played drums for Disgorge as well as Sarcolytic and Images of Violence. These panty wearing posers don't know shit

anonymous 11/16/2023 5:30:58 PM

He isn't drumming the vocals. Shut the f*ck up. Like saying Dave Grohl is a good vocalist because he played drums for Nirvana.

anonymous 11/16/2023 5:48:34 PM

I'm drumming the vocals. It sounds like Lil Yatchy.

Looks like everyone is having fun!

Ricky is a well known meth head. Yeah, fool be withdrawing. This is getting pathetic. Time to throw in the towel.
