Afterbirth premiere "Hovering Human Head Drones" from upcoming 'In But Not Of' record

Afterbirth, the veteran progressive death metal quartet, have premiered their second single, "Hovering Human Head Drones", from their upcoming album In But Not Of via Invisible Oranges. The album is scheduled to be released on October 20 through Willowtip Records in various formats including CD, gatefold vinyl, and digital.
Formed in 1993, Afterbirth disbanded for twenty years before making a comeback in 2013 and releasing two full-length albums. This album, In But Not Of, will be their first release on Willowtip Records since signing a deal with the label in 2021.
The band commented:
We are proud to be working with Willowtip Records and their enthusiasm for this album has inspired us to continue pushing the trajectories of the Afterbirth sound to the most far-fetched conclusions possible, while always staying true to our original approach and ethos from when the band was first started all those many years ago. There is not just one tangible concept on this album, rather, there are a myriad of interconnected musical themes and lyrical narratives to confuse, confound and delight the listener. In But Not Of will surely drag the listener kicking and screaming through quantum leaps into different situations and topics too numerous to mention. Though we may be IN, we are not OF. For fans of chameleons, frogs, clouds of smoke, that which wriggles in the haunted abyss and alternative rock.
"Hovering Human Head Drones" follows the band's first In But Not Of single "Tightening The Screws".
