Megadeth settle 'The Sick, The Dying ... and the Dead!' cover art lawsuit

The lawsuit surrounding the cover of Megadeth's latest album, The Sick, the Dying ... and the Dead!, has concluded with a neutral outcome. The legal dispute began when New York-based illustrator and designer Brent Elliott White filed a lawsuit in February against the band, Universal Music Group, and others. White claimed that he had not been compensated for the extensive work he had put into creating artwork and characters for Megadeth, asserting that he still held the copyright to the art due to the absence of a finalized contract. Furthermore, he alleged that his artwork had been featured in Rolling Stone without proper credit and licensed for merchandise by third parties without his consent.
However, on Thursday, the involved parties jointly informed the court that they had reached a preliminary agreement to resolve the case. They plan to file a stipulation of dismissal within 30 days, indicating their intention to bring the legal proceedings to a close. White's attorney, Matthew Cave of Kibler Fowler & Cave, confirmed on Friday that the matter had been peacefully resolved.
As of now, Universal Music Group has not issued a comment in response to the request for information.
