Metalcore band Boundaries has released a new single called "Armageddon," which is included in their two-song digital single also featuring "Bedlam," released last March. Both tracks were part of the recording sessions for Boundaries' debut album, Burying Brightness, which dropped at the end of last year. Produced by Randy Leboeuf (The Acacia Strain, Kublai Khan), these tracks show a new direction for the band, who explored different perspectives and tools for this record.

According to the band members, they wanted to have a wider range of dynamics, some calmer and prettier, others extremely heavy.

Frontman Matt McDougal said of the band's approach to the session:

"We utilized their voices for the first time. There's definitely a new dynamic. We focused on writing some choruses. We made it a little prettier and calmer, changing up the listening experience. We wanted to use all of the tools we have at our disposal on this record. We didn't leave anything out."

Guitarist Cory Emond adds

"Our goal is to write exactly the kinds of songs we want to with no barriers. I feel like we did that. We've always wanted to have songs with singing, but we were never able to capture it until now. We also have some of the heaviest songs we've ever written. It has both extremes."

The band recently announced a new round of North American tour dates, joining Counterparts and Like Moths To Flames for a three-week trek.
