Testament frontman Chuck Billy jokes "Lombardo, who?" while introducing new drummer Chris Dovas

During a recent Testament concert on May 2 show at the Teatro Royal Center in Bogotá, Colombia, lead singer Chuck Billy made a reference to former drummer Dave Lombardo while introducing the band's new drummer Chris Dovas. Before performing "D.N.R. (Do Not Resuscitate)" from the album The Gathering, on which Lombardo played, Chuck introduced Dovas and asked the audience to give him a round of applause while throwing a subtle jab at Lombardo.
Lombardo recently disclosed that he would not be joining Testament for their 2023 shows due to scheduling conflicts, so Testament confirmed Dovas as the replacement. Lombardo formally joined Testament last year and has also been active in other bands like Misfits and Mr. Bungle.
Chris Dovas originally filled in for Lombardo on the first six dates of "The Bay Strikes Back Tour" due to scheduling conflicts. The band's Latin American tour with Kreator wraps up on May 9th, and Lombardo's future with Testament is uncertain.
