New York-based black metal band, Woe, has recently entered the studio to record their highly anticipated follow-up album to their 2017 release, Hope Attrition. While the band did release an EP titled A Violent Dread in 2019, featuring an original song and a cover of Dawn's "The Knell and the World," the upcoming full-length album is generating excitement among fans.

However, there has been speculation regarding the band's lineup, as guitarist Matt Mewton was absent from the band's recent photo and caption. There has been no official announcement regarding his departure, leaving the question of whether the band is now a trio or if Matt is still a member.

Regardless of the potential change in lineup, Woe's musical talent is well known, and fans eagerly anticipate the band's new album, which is sure to offer a fresh perspective on the black metal genre.

The band shared the following via their Instagram post:

Album 5 drums are complete! They were recorded at Red Planet outside Philadelphia with Joe Smiley, who also recorded and mixed the first Woe album some 15 years ago. It was surreal to be back where it started. I'm moving onto the other instruments imminently from my own music space.

I should add: the new album will be released this year. Once again, @vendettarecs will be our partner for it.
