Killswitch Engage vocalist Jesse Leach shares update on new album

Vocalist Jessie Leach shared a post via Instagram in which he celebrates his partner for aiding in escaping off to vacation in Canada while in the midst of Killswitch Engage's writing a new full-length.

Leach gives us a slight insight into where the band is at in that process, almost completely demoed.

Leach shared the following:

Me consistently not being Metal enough runs into my personal life. 😂

Great few days away in the great north of Canada with my love @porphyraphilia.

Sometimes you need to step away from your daily to remember who you are.

When I make a record I get so lost in it, it can drag me down and truly hold me prisoner. I've got the songs to show for it and I'm proud of my work so far! New @killswitchengage album is almost demoed out and ready to be reworked and considered. Then on to re writing and deciding what the ideas and concepts are before we actually begin to attempt to record.

Slow going for sure but I am really happy so far with what's come out of us.

Grateful for a break and grateful to get back to it in a few days. I am fortunate, blessed and indeed lucky to be able to do what I do!

Grateful to my lady for always knowing when it's time for a reset and a break! Already feeling refreshed and re- inspired!

Ps be yourself and don't ever hold back to portray and image of something you are not. Try to be comfortable in your own skin. It may take time, hell it make take years…but work on it. Surround yourself with people you can be free with and not have to pretend to be an avatar of who you really are.

I'm not concerned with fitting in to a category or a lifestyle anymore (to be fair for the most part I've never cared, but at times I did a little…we are all human). I don't need labels, clubs, crews and restrictions!

I am me, no more, no less, take it or leave it. To me what I do and who I am can coexist and not define me. I certainly don't walk around with a stage presence swagger in my everyday life (and to the opposite I'm not normal me on stage, because damn that would be less than entertaining 😂)….

My real ones know.
