Unwound to do reunion tour in 2023
“Starting over again is a rebellious act against our failure,” says Justin Trosper

The Pacific Northwest post-hardcore band Unwound called it a day more than 20 years ago however, they just announced a reunion tour due to hit the road in early 2023. You can view the dates below.
The group, which started in 1991, had a 10-year career releasing seven full-lengths and three live albums. The band's last and final release, Live Leaves, was recorded live while on their final tour and was released in 2002. In addition to the reunion tour announcement, the band will be re-issuing Live Leaves with the Numero Group.
Ideas of a reunion were previously dismissed by members of the band, which you can read in the band's earlier re-issued album liner notes. That being said the band's secretly had their first reunion practice in April of this year.
"When we put Unwound on the shelf in 2002, we never thought we'd return to the project," said drummer Sara Lund.
In 2020, Vern Rumsey, the band's bass player passed away. Jared Warren, of Melvins and Big Business, will be filling that role on the upcoming trek. The band will also be joined by Scott Seckington of Nocturnal Habits on guitar and keyboard.
