In Flames re-sign with Nuclear Blast, share new single, to tour North America w/ Fit For An Autopsy

Official press release:

Today, two international metal heavyweights celebrate an extension of their alliance: Swedish metal legends In Flames have re-signed with Nuclear Blast, extending their partnership on a worldwide level. As one of the most influential metal bands of all time, the news foreshadows some exciting plans for the Gothenburg legends, soon to be rolled out.

Marcus Hammer, the managing director of Nuclear Blast, states, "We are extremely happy to welcome In Flames back into the NBR family on a worldwide basis. Here's the message to the metal world: A new metal masterpiece is about to drop and you can guarantee there is no decay visible. Quite the contrary. In Flames and Nuclear Blast will kill it together — once again and stronger than ever!"

Nathan Barley Phillips, Senior A&R, comments, "As a dedicated long-serving Jesterhead myself, it gives me great pleasure to represent In Flames as they embark on this exciting new chapter of their illustrious career. I cannot wait for you all to hear what this incredible band have in store!"

Following this groundbreaking news, In Flames have today released a crushing new single titled "State of Slow Decay." Watch the video here:

The song, which was premiered live at Sweden Rock festival, comes accompanied by a video that features the band performing their new track on an unconventional stage.

"We have always done our own thing without any pressure from the outside world, BUT being back with Nuclear Blast worldwide has for sure inspired us to write a host of new material that includes the past, the present, and the future," comments frontman Anders Fridén. "'State of Slow Decay' includes everything that In Flames are known for. But it's more than just a song, it's a fucking statement. I couldn't be happier to release this as a taste of what's to come."

NorthFromHere 6/13/2022 9:03:15 AM

Need two Kansas dates to accommodate all the Vended fans.

anonymous 6/13/2022 9:10:21 AM

They done trying to be a radio rock band yet?

anonymous 6/13/2022 9:21:31 AM

Holy shit, the signing announcement is embarrassing. Band hasn't been relevant this century FFS. And this tour is going to be dismal.

anonymous 6/13/2022 9:26:35 AM

Definitely a step back in the right direction. And much better production than what they got from those washed up turds that produced the last 2 records, Jesus christ. Stoked to hear more...

anonymous 6/13/2022 9:49:56 AM

Before all the professional Lambgoat tour managers, tour accountants, Live Nation tour reps, booking agents, day to day managers, and business managers begin chiming in - for the record, FFAA will be getting a FLAT RATE guarantee per night.

anonymous 6/13/2022 9:56:00 AM

Can't wait for Fat Pat to continue believing he's a rock star. His interviews are priceless. Recently here him state Will Putney is a genius and the music he writes for FFAA is perfect.

"in flames resign with the same label to release the same record theyve released repeatedly the last decade" damn and this is "news" lol

anonymous 6/13/2022 10:45:44 AM

Jaime Yoshikata, Senior VP of Promotions at Nuclear Blast here. We here in the promotions department are working tirelessly, day and night, to ensure In Flames cracks into the Billboard 100 chart. Rest assured, we will not give up!

anonymous 6/13/2022 11:08:16 AM

Yea there's only Bjorn and Anders left but those two are capable of SO MUCH more than what the last 3 records brought to the table. Say what you want about the Playground record but the riffs were serious quality and Bjorn wrote the whole thing himself. Hopefully it shows up in this new album. In Flames is one band I always give another chance and have been let down the past several times.

anonymous 6/13/2022 11:11:07 AM

These guys released a album called "sounds of a playground fading" and their European Pretty suspect if you ask me

anonymous 6/13/2022 11:12:14 AM

Sounds great. The last record had some good songs that were held back by weak-ass production, and before that one "Battles" physically strained my ears the mix was so terrible (and from supposedly legendary engineers too).

Nuclear Ass Frrrt For An Autopsy

anonymous 6/13/2022 11:16:25 AM

At least Nuclear Blast can move splatter vinyl. Unlike the boxes and boxes of AILD splatter vinyl clogging up the Metal Blade warehouse. I work at Metal Blade. Nobody wants Tim Lambesis vinyl. It's a shame really

anonymous 6/13/2022 11:27:37 AM

^ Hey bro. Small world. I work at Metal Blade, too. I work night shift in their main warehouse and can easily confirm a pallet of AILD splatter vinyl is sitting there as I type this. Word has already come down from the warehouse manager this past weekend that July 1 it's getting sent to trash.

anonymous 6/13/2022 12:16:01 PM

Best song they've put out in ages. Not a high bar by any means, but I'm interested in hearing more.

anonymous 6/13/2022 12:45:02 PM

The first couple Halo Effect singles must have made them nervous enough to go back and rehash the opening riff from Blinded by Fear and claim it as a "return to form".

anonymous 6/13/2022 1:29:54 PM

lol this band is such a joke and has been for 25 years.

anonymous 6/13/2022 1:32:44 PM

"These guys released a album called "sounds of a playground fading" and their European" Do you mean, "they're European," you mentally challenged loser?

anonymous 6/13/2022 2:03:50 PM

Not that this tour is going to fill these venues, but at what point did Fit For An Autopsy become a direct support band??

anonymous 6/13/2022 2:55:21 PM

Ferret Records is stoked.

anonymous 6/13/2022 3:35:19 PM

To the guys above who work at Metal Blade…what's Brian Slagel like?

anonymous 6/13/2022 5:15:34 PM

Hey, Pat might suck as a father but at least he knows how to play guitar like a...like a...uhm....dude who plays guitar.

anonymous 6/13/2022 7:28:14 PM

The first couple Halo Effect singles must have made them nervous enough to go back and rehash the opening riff from Blinded by Fear and claim it as a "return to form". ^^^ I thought the same damn thing. Sounds pretty good though

anonymous 6/13/2022 7:47:29 PM

Wow never thought I'd say this but this is good!!!!! Inflames is metal again after years of garbage! Drummer is sick

anonymous 6/13/2022 8:35:45 PM

When you see the size of the venues FFAA are incapable of selling out, and the number of attendees Fat Pat will not so humbly attempt to brag about drawing, then the only guess I have as to why they are direct support is to that faint, almost unrecognisable buzz they have (mostly due to Will Putney), but also people calling in favors.

anonymous 6/13/2022 8:38:17 PM

For the dude who asked, Brian is a pretty cool guy. Super knowledgeable about the metal world (old and new), firm when he needs to be, but has a teddy bear side to him, as well. Charitable and a really kind guy. As with everyone, can be an a-hole, too, but so can we all. I'd say he's a good boss to work for.

anonymous 6/13/2022 10:24:06 PM

They brought out this track because The Halo Effect is doing that classic melodeath style. I'll believe it when I hear the rest of the new IF album. Which is not gonna sound the same (I.e. metalcore and altrock), as usual.

anonymous 6/14/2022 9:09:45 AM

Seems like they couldn't become the next Korn as much as Anders tried. Back to metal they go.

anonymous 6/14/2022 9:15:08 AM

Fat Pat claims the other guitarist in his band, the one who's the fat Teen Wolf, gets laid a lot on tour from Tinder. My question (totally serious) is: when looking at the FFAA line-up of Magic Mike clones, such as Fat Pat, Blue, and Teen Wolf… what kind of female would willingly wrap her lips around their cocks or f*ck them? Obvious for the overweight pigs, but the girls who are half decent looking?

anonymous 6/14/2022 9:21:35 AM

Do I sense some jealousy of FFAAs success?

anonymous 6/14/2022 10:32:02 AM

Fit An Autopsy is way better than Fit For An Autopsy.

anonymous 6/14/2022 10:59:27 AM

The only member of Fit For An Autopsy who truly has any talent and stands out as anything more than subpar in an ocean of subpar would of course be Will Putney. Don't know him, so he could be cool or a douche, but at least he's talented enough to be a respected and sought after producer in the hardcore/metalcore/metal genre (and won a Grammy). As for the rest, who make up the live unit, I have 0.00% jealousy of them for the following reasons: 1) They all fall nicely within the range of severely out of shape dad body to obese, with the average being slobbish. 2) They are all ugly as f*ck. 3) While not true for the losers on this comment section, those of us with a career we love aren't impressed at the fact these guys don't make enough money to live above the poverty line (living at home, in shot hole rental apartments, or needing 2-3 other side hustles to stay afloat isn't making it). 4) Having to be in band to get laid says more bad about their looks/personality/status.

anonymous 6/14/2022 11:01:22 AM

Mouthpiece > Fit For An Autopsy

anonymous 6/14/2022 11:01:49 AM

108 > Resurrection

anonymous 6/14/2022 11:03:40 AM

Fat Pat < Fat Traci

anonymous 6/14/2022 1:31:33 PM

I see Howard Benson is still involved so I guess Chris Lorde Alge mixing was the problem on the last couple. Glad they canned his ass on this one.

anonymous 6/14/2022 1:34:11 PM

anonymous 1 day ago The first couple Halo Effect singles must have made them nervous enough to go back and rehash the opening riff from Blinded by Fear and claim it as a "return to form". Lol thought the same thing

anonymous 6/15/2022 10:04:01 AM

NEVER got "the hype" about this band.

anonymous 6/15/2022 3:26:51 PM

anonymous 5 hours ago NEVER got "the hype" about this band. When we were 14 and all we knew was Korn and Mudvayne and then you hear "Colony"...it was pretty fcken cool.
