Turnstile album 'Glow On' debuts in Top 30 on Billboard 200 chart
Baltimore, Maryland hardcore/punk/rock unit Turnstile have scored their first appearance on the Billboard 200, with new album Glow On making an impressive debut at No. 30 on the chart. The record amassed roughly 15,600 in total activity in its first week of release in the United States, with 11,500 of those comprised of pure sales.
As such, Glow On bowed at No. 8 on the Top Album Sales chart and No. 3 on the Vinyl Albums chart.
The new album's showing far surpassed that of Turnstile's previous album, Time & Space (2018), which sold 2,800 copies in its first week, and their full-length debut, 2015's Nonstop Feeling, which had a first-week sales tally of 1,100.

Post CommentThey rule. Good for them. Indians hat is a bit insensitive for such a progressive act though. Covid for all!!
Losers who make dumb comments on Lambgoat are bummed. ^^not true!!
Mart here, I miss when this band had hard groovy riffs like the pepps and 311. Now they just sound like imagine dragons.
Album is so good , I don't even care if they are anti-vaxxers. My fat wife has fully recovered btw.
Yet here you are posting about commenters like an asshurt bitch. Wow 11-year old band sells just under 12K in the first week. Many bands on their label have done way better.
Btw 11.5K is not a good sign. Say they averaged 10K for the next 10 weeks for 115.5K total actual copies sold. That's not even half of Silver. Even if they did that then averaged 5K for the next 31 weeks (52 weeks total) that's only 155K more & 270.5K total over a year, barely over Silver. Phenomenal for a former hardcore band but subpar for a mainstream act. They need to support on an arena tour not play headlining tours if they want to never have to work regular jobs or grind it out on tour again. Also an album every three years (2015, 2018, 2021) is total bullshit - they gotta crank one out every two years. Three or more is for arena bands not ones who needed to play two NYC shows to come nowhere close to breaking 2K paid.
^ I meant 111.5K the first 11 weeks (11.5K plus 100K.) 5K a week the next 41 weeks is 205K for 316.5K the first year - I don't see them doing that. They have pretty narrowminded management. Where's the arena tour with Rage Against The Machine? Appearances on Saturday Night Live & Jimmy Kimmel? Bonnaroo? Step it up Vitalo.
Quincy Jones up there is skipping a step. Billboard counts every 1500 streams as one album sold. Convert the streams and add them to the total. There's your gold record.
Dudes who wear capri pants and talk about coming out of 'mosh retirement' are stoked.
Man Turnstile is really thinning out Code Orange huh
When's the next American Nightmare re-union show?
Great album! Glow on is as good or better than the Tron legacy soundtrack
I wanted to like this record. Hipsters are stoked.
I like this band to get the chicks Hardcore fan, don't like Turnstile -> crusty, impotent Turnstile fan -> fun, virile as f*ck
here we go with axe to grind talking for half a show about how big turnstile is ... come get me when they are playing with metallica then lets talk about big. These guys exaggerate this band so much like they are the second coming of Biohazard
People who get mad someone doesn't like the same band they do are stoked.
Trump's America is on a ventilator and not stoked.
Quincy Jones? First off 1500 streams is not a real sale & f uck Billboard. 1500 streams are just 1500 listens in the end. Second by your logic if I put out a release & it has 750M streams but not a single cd, other physical format or download sale that's a Gold record - bullsh it. Last streams are artificial inflators & unreliable cuz bots can inflate the count moreover labels can overreport. Nes Besides RIAA certifies albums as Gold. Platinum etc. based on sales via Nielsen Soundscan not Billboard.
Axe To Grind is self-important BS & BS for the simple fact that record labels Triple B & Run For Cover Records sponsor them so they'll never bite those hands that feed them. Reason for all this Turnstile hype is hardcore has ZERO 2K on headliner-level bands besides them & Knocked Loose. When these two overrated bands break up HC will be in an even bigger world of sh it.
Turnstile played 500 capacity Elsewhere in Brooklyn & 1200 capacity Irving Plaza in NYC. Say they sold out IP at 1100 as well as Elsewhere at 450 (capacity isn't paid people cuz you have to factor in staff, bands, their crews & guests) for 1550 paid across two nights in the biggest market for hardcore punk, metal, and really all underground music - that's not impressive. It's a good START but this band has been around since 2010 thus they've gotten bigger until recently. How much bigger can they get headlining halls in Santa Cruz & 500-1200 cap venues? Next NYC show MUST be 3000 capacity Terminal 5 & it has to do at least 2K paid @ $40.

good old fashion lambgoat sales figure arguments, things are getting back on track. Turnstile slams for a hardcore version of 311. New album has some great songs and hooks but is probably the weakest yet. Overproduced and lots of gimmicks.
I put on snapcase bright flashes for shits last night and heard a handful of riffs this band literally lifted from them.
Soundscan was bought by MRC Data. Cd & digital sales are the true measure of sales. https://www.musicbusinessworldwide.com/companies/mrc-data/
