Mastodon finish recording new album

Atlanta, Georgia progressive metal quartet Mastodon are currently mixing their eighth studio album and follow-up to Emperor of Sand (2017). The new record was tracked at West End Sound in Atlanta with producer David Bottrill (Tool, King Crimson), who is also overseeing mixing. In a new interview with Talking Metal, guitarist Bill Kelliher revealed that the mixing process is roughly "halfway" complete. A fall release via Reprise Records is expected.
