August Burns Red featured in episode of NCIS Los Angeles
It's always fun when songs from our corner of the music universe turn up in unexpected places, like a hit TV show starring LL Cool J and Chris O'Donnell.
Viewers of a new installment of CBS police drama series NCIS: Los Angeles found themselves serenaded by a track from Pennsylvania metalcore quintet August Burns Red for more than two full minutes during a pivotal action sequence of episode, "The Frogman's Daughter," which aired on February 14.
Specifically, the daughter of main character Sam Hanna (played by LL Cool J) is abducted and finds herself imprisoned and later subjected to a some sort of sonic torture via August Burns Red's 2020 track, "Bones." Eventually, one of the kidnappers admits, "this music is getting to me," likely vocalizing the thoughts of countless TV viewers unaccustomed to metalcore. You can watch the relevant clip below.
August Burns Red guitarist JB Brubaker commented: "Just watched an episode of NCIS: LA where my band's music is used to blast the ears of prisoners as a means of auditory torture, so yeah, feeling pretty good about myself right now."
