Killswitch Engage album 'Atonement' debuts in Top 15

While they missed the Top 10 this time around, Killswitch Engage still managed to put forth an impressive commercial showing for a metal album in 2019. Their new album, Atonement, sold roughly 25,000 copies in the United States during its first week of release, landing at No. 13 on the Billboard 200 chart. Notably, Atonement debuted at No. 2 on the Top Album Sales chart, No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart, No. 2 on the Top Current Albums chart, and No. 1 on the Digital Albums chart, all career bests for the band. Atonement is the band's first album for Metal Blade Records following a roughly eighteen-year stint with Roadrunner Records that included three Top 10 debuts and two Gold records. Killswitch's previous album, 2016's Incarnate, bowed at No. 6 on the Billboard 200, still the band's best chart showing to date. The album sold around 33,000 copies in its first week. Its predecessor, Disarm The Descent (2013), sold 48,000 copies in its debut week, landing at No. 7 on the Billboard 200.

Congrats to KsE. Incredibly solid album from start to finish. PS - If you dont like the band/genre, why waste time trying to shame others who have passion for music.. again, please do something a little more constructive with your time and efforts. All your doing is adding to the "elitist" trope that is killing the scene.

^wtf are you doing on lambgoat? This is practically a fckin satire site for horses who carry sheetrock and srj tmkn carrying a bag of jewels under his scrotum.

The kings of metalcore

"If you wrote this comment please kill yourself" instead of being apart of the problem, why not try to spread reception and inclusion. The biggest kicker here is how try hard the hate is and how negatively a "good" comment is received. Where is it written, if you like metal you have to be an a** hat to anyone who has a different opinion?

anonymous 8/28/2019 6:15:45 AM

^This guy should definitely try Grammarly. He probably took one semester of creative writing at a remedial level at his local community college, gathered a bunch of big words in his proverbial word bag, stood up, dusted the dirt off his hands, then set out into the world to show that he can add 30 unnecessary words into a sentence to make a paragraph for no gd reason.

^ maybe im trying to show that not all who listen to hard core/metal are closed minded extra chromosome closed minded sh*t heads. looks like ppl like you are making my goal almost unachievable. I bet you let religious beliefs/political views/music taste rule your opinion of anything/everything. Just sad to see a community based on hate and disapproval

anonymous 8/28/2019 6:25:03 AM

closed minded closed minded closed minded closed minded closed minded closed minded closed minded closed minded

^ 3 Eastern time. Most likely from the Midwest, has an assortment of bacon-collared black polo's with tight overly-washed light blue jeans, an ok to average credit score with some kind of guitar gear being financed from Reverb. Has certainly considered a man bun and drives a 2016 or newer Subaru.

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:00:27 AM

^ oh man. eastern time "correct"! 2014 corolla damaged and not yet repaired. assortment of band hoodies. cut off khakis. shit credit score. actually, i do have a fair amount of guitar gear, had to sell off most of it due to the inability to hold down a job a couple years back, with that said, sh*t credit score. "man bun".. i have long hair and its probably more hair than you have on your body fck boi. Is the best LG has to offer? i thought someone would tear me a new one

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:09:58 AM

^2014 Corolla is a pretty dependable car. Props on your choice, there. I hope that you can be able to sell the gear you don't need anymore in order to get that thing back in nice working order and maybe turn to your credit score in hopes that one day you can be approved for a nice home. Other than that, I bet you wear flip-flops with those cutoff khakis. Or in midwestern, "khaaakis". Get a haircut.

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:15:03 AM

^ send me a link of an "appropriate" hair cut? i wear chocos (very close indeed to flip flops). had to sell the gear to finance the car, no need to sell anything now thankfully. Im in western NC, chef, piecing everything back together one day at a time. any advice on how to be better? half troll/seriously asking, if that wasn't obvious

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:30:15 AM

^ My wife love's choco's. She's tried to get me on board but I'm more the closed-toe type, myself. In regards to your hair, just go see a stylist. They'll hook you up with something that looks great with your face shape, etc. - That's the way to go. Be sure to tip. Sounds like you're pointed in the right direction. Keep heading that whilst resisting the urge to use the term, "fck boi".

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:38:36 AM

^if I'm 100% honest (something that isn't present on this site other than you sir), i value you actually talking to me. if you can piece together each of my comments (as well as on other articles), it saddens me to see the ones brave enough to speak opinions on this site are in fact trolls/haters. a little hard to stay positive when surrounded by negativity

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:44:51 AM

^ It's just a spot to anonymously talk shit which is mainly loaded, tongue-in-cheek, while fantasy football season isn't live. If there's one thing to never take seriously, it's the comment section on LG.* *disclaimer: unless we're talking shit about metal bands post 2006/2007. That shit deserves all the shit-talk.

anonymous 8/28/2019 7:51:10 AM

^ BRAVO! very few new acts have captured me as of late (knocked loose, gideon and counterparts are the only ones as of late that have done remotely anything for me). opinions aside, what i thought would happen while commenting on here actually yielded the opposite of my expectations. Faith in humanity restored. cheers buddy.
