Between The Buried And Me 'Automata II' debuts in Top 75

Automata II, the new album from progressive metal band Between The Buried And Me, has debuted at No. 65 on the Billboard 200 chart, with first-week sales of roughly 9,800 in the United States. Meanwhile, the record landed at No. 7 on the Top Albums chart, No. 3 on the Hard Rock Albums chart, and No. 1 on the Independent Albums chart. The first part of the Automata two-piece album, Automata I, was released in March and sold 13,500 in its initial week, debuting at No. 35 on the Billboard 200. BTBAM's previous album, Coma Ecliptic (2015), bowed at No. 12 on the Billboard 200, the band's highest chart debut, selling roughly 18,500 units in its first week of release. Notably, Automata II is the first Between The Buried And Me album to not debut in the Top 50 since 2007's Colors. (However, releasing two albums in less than six months can obviously make it difficult to maximize sales.)

I haven't listened to new BTBAM in years, but I know exactly what it sounds like.

^couldn't have said it better. Weird time signature shifts and "experimentation" while Tommy Rogers burps and close-mic sings.

anonymous 7/24/2018 10:30:31 AM

shouldn't this be considered a success? since it's technically one album, was finished when the first one came out... that would equal 23, 300. Not to mention the double LPs that will be sold

"Automata I, was released in March and sold 13,500 in its initial week, debuting at *No. 35* on the Billboard 200." ... Automata II is the first Between The Buried And Me album to not debut in the Top 50 since 2007's Colors.

Tough crowd. This place will kill itself soon.

anonymous 7/25/2018 6:51:00 PM

What do they expect? That shit is 3 songs and a bunch of Cring worthy filler disguised as a full length. Pt1 was sick.. pt2 is a joke.

anonymous 7/25/2018 6:51:31 PM

Auto correct took cringe and turned it into Cring? Okay.

anonymous 7/26/2018 10:32:04 AM

Yay.

69 minute songs are stoked. bring back Glass Casket, nerds
