A Perfect Circle album debuts in Top 5

Los Angeles, California alternative rock/metal act A Perfect Circle has scored their fourth consecutive Top 5 album. The band's new record, Eat the Elephant, landed at No. 3 on the Billboard 200 with first-week sales of 63,000 in the United States. The band's previous album, Emotive, released in 2004, sold 142,000 copies in its first week, bowing at No. 2 on the Billboard 200. The record has since been certified Gold by the RIAA. A Perfect Circle's sophomore effort, 2003's Thirteenth Step, also debuted at No. 2, selling roughly 231,000 copies in its first week and has been certified Platinum. Their debut album, Mer de Noms, sold more than 188,000 copies in its debut week and landed at No. 4 on the Billboard 200. Not long thereafter, the record was certified Platinum and has subsequently sold nearly 2 million copies.
