Turnstile releases new song and video

Turnstile Baltimore area hardcore act Turnstile has returned with a new single and music video. "Real Thing," the first new music from the band since 2016's Move Thru Me EP, is streaming today on Turnstile's YouTube channel accompanied by an official music video directed by Mortis Studio (Adult Swim, Earl Sweatshirt). "Real Thing" debuted earlier today on the Viceland TV Network and prefaces the release of Turnstile's Roadrunner Records debut LP, which is set to arrive in winter 2018. Turnstile frontman Brendan Yates explains, "'Real Thing' is about the idea of happiness being made up in the imagination. The way you imagine perfection from your past can blind you to real beauty and life right in front of you, resulting in a circle of discontent."

anonymous 11/2/2017 2:45:50 PM

Not bad at all. Not exactly as strong as anything on Nonstop Feeling but at the same time, not exactly a step back.

anonymous 11/2/2017 2:51:11 PM

Man this band is straight trash

anonymous 11/2/2017 3:11:52 PM

Director is an idiot. Minute wasted intro and can't sync music with the playing. Which would be funny if they weren't playing their parts, but you can tell they're mimicking the actual song. True lg eyes see. And get a new vocalist or teach him how to do something different ffs. I miss srj. -The Illuminated Man

Ok let's copy The Bronx and make a video , and film it like how they do it .

anonymous 11/2/2017 5:46:03 PM

Holy shit this music is so vapid. They recorded some random shitty atonal stuff on the guitar, learned how to play it and somehow remember it, and then called it a song.

anonymous 11/2/2017 7:36:30 PM

Just imagine the dartboard with different 90s bands on it. They hit Snapcase this time, obviously.

anonymous 11/3/2017 5:54:14 AM

will a hardcore band ever wear clothes that actually fit them? sleeves that actually fall ABOVE the elbow and hug the guns? stay tuned. (probably never)

anonymous 11/3/2017 7:36:21 AM

Patiently waiting for this band and Code Orange to disappear. Finally happened with local honkers Douche Amore.

anonymous 11/3/2017 8:30:30 AM

Downswing is not stoked at this , now they gotta change up Their sound again to keep up with the trend hops

fourthgradecocktease 11/3/2017 8:37:52 AM

Those shots of Brendan laying on the floor mouthing the lyrics bring the cringe

anonymous 11/3/2017 8:55:56 AM

haters gonna hate, proud of my boys

anonymous 11/3/2017 8:59:10 AM

I bet you the roadrunner release will flop. Every time one of these bands jumps to a major they are already burnt out from their first couple records and the creative juices just stop flowing. I have juices flowing in my pants right now tho. But these days times are different, bands can just go back to anything from the past, pull it, put their spin on it and kids will be into it. So who knows, I bet it flops tho

anonymous 11/3/2017 11:19:01 AM

They will NEVER be commercially viable. Maybe buy onto some festival tours or something, but this will always be a vfw band.

anonymous 11/3/2017 11:30:28 AM

I like the bass player better when he sang for Sevendust

anonymous 11/3/2017 7:46:20 PM

Actual trash.

anonymous 11/4/2017 5:01:01 AM

Dude playing the piano seriously looks like he received an extra chromosome during conception.

anonymous 11/5/2017 7:42:00 AM

Snapcase feel indeed

anonymous 11/5/2017 12:26:49 PM
