Mastodon EP debuts in Top 50

Cold Dark Place, the newly released EP from progressive rock/metal band Mastodon, has debuted at No. 42 on the Billboard 200 chart, with a sales tally of roughly 11,000 in the United States. The four-track record is composed of songs recorded during sessions for the band's Once More 'Round the Sun (2014) and Emperor of Sand (2017) albums. Although all three of Mastodon's most recent full-lengths have debuted in the Top 10 on the aforementioned chart, a Top 50 finish for an EP of four recording session leftovers is nothing to sneeze at.
