Chris Cornell, frontman of Soundgarden (in addition to Audioslave and Temple of the Dog), passed away suddenly last night (May 17) following a performance at the Fox Theatre in Detroit. Cornell was 52. A statement from his publicist reads as follows:
"His wife Vicky and family were shocked to learn of his sudden and unexpected passing, and they will be working closely with the medical examiner to determine the cause. They would like to thank his fans for their continuous love and loyalty and ask that their privacy be respected at this time."
According to Detroit news outlet, WDIV Local 4, suicide is suspected as Cornell was reportedly "found dead in the bathroom with something around his neck."33 Comments
