Capture, formerly known as Capture The Crown, has cancelled their recently announced U.S. tour with My Enemies And I, Dayseeker, and Kingdom Of Giants. The band has issued the following statement regarding the tour, their name change, current lineup, and future plans:
First and foremost, it is to our misfortune that we must announce that the upcoming 'Social Suicide' headline tour will be cancelled due to recent changes in visa compliances within the US government, and ultimately things that are out of our control. Although we will eventually obtain this visa, we have tried everything within our power to get into the USA for this tour. Unfortunately, certain obligations and legalities associated with getting a visa have not allowed us to obtain this in time. We sincerely apologize and promise that we will make it up to you all. All tickets will be refunded through point of purchase. Please keep an eye on the band's socials for more updates.
In addition to this, we wanted to clear up any confusion surrounding recent changes within the band.
"Capture The Crown" is no longer. From here on out, the group will be referred to as "Capture".
We feel it is within the best interest of the band, former members, music, progression and future of this project that we wipe the slate clean and take a fresh new approach through the likes of a slight name change and direction.
Along with the name change, we will be releasing new material showcasing our new transitional sound and the direction we will now strive towards. The release of this album named 'Lost Control' will happen later this year. There will be a new lineup, which I am now happy to announce. On guitar we have Alex Maggard, on bass we have Robert Weston, on drums we have MannYtheDrummer and on vocals Jeffrey Wellfare.
If you're wondering about Capture playing old Capture The Crown content, the answer is yes. Along with change it's important to preserve the integrity of how this group got to where it is today and that includes showing appreciation to old songs that our fans and friends have enjoyed over the years.
We would also like to show sincere gratitude to members involved in CTC over the last 7 years. In particular, Alec Hoxsey, Kyle Devaney, Joe Abikhair, Maurice Morfaw and Mitchell Rogers. Being in a touring band is an extremely demanding and a sacrificial task as most of you are already aware. The members of CTC have been exceptional people to work and tour with, and we are extremely grateful for the hard work and dedication that has been put into CTC from inception, from all.
CTC has had such an amazing time with these extremely talented people and we regret nothing. Although it may be hard to get along at times, it's like any relationship, there will always be bumps along the way, but we feel like we conquered most obstacles in the way, and did it to the best of our abilities. In saying that, this industry has a way of drawing people in and spitting them out to the point of resent, and while business, negativity and politics are temporary, friendships run deep and that is truly irreplaceable.
If you're asking yourself 'what can I do?', well, it's simple and may seem a bit cliche. Go to shows, buy music, buy merchandise, support artists that you enjoy and wear their colors with pride, because ultimately it's about the music and the way it makes YOU feel. We believe most artists can agree that's why they choose to do this. Over the years we have seen this industry mold music into a popularity contest, a commercial and financial turnover that is as rapid as the content currently being put out. It has really taken away from the art, the beauty and the message behind the music regardless of the content. We honestly believe music is the most powerful remedy on this planet and speaks unimaginable volumes within our society. So let's support this and believe in this together.
From here on out we will do anything in our control to preserve and empower that message.
Thank you for the memories, the good times and bad, the lessons learnt, and taking the time to read this. Capture has a very exciting journey ahead and we want you all to be a part of it.
To cap this statement off, we urge you to appreciate each other and the fact you have accessibility to art where others do not. Get inspired, do what you want, enjoy what you want despite what others think, be happy, confident, and work towards what you want in life.
Everything is possible if you're determined, if you find love in it, and believe in it.
P.S. We will be releasing a brand new song with a video on Friday, April 21st which encapsulates and tributes memories of Capture the Crown and the good times that were had by all.
