Architects fans raise over $41,000 on behalf of Tom Searle

Tom Searle of Architects band dies Following the late-August death of Architects guitarist Tom Searle, who succumbed to cancer at age 28, a fundraising campaign was initiated by Searle's family to raise funds for The Martlets Hospice, the UK facility responsible for much of his care. In less than two weeks, Marlets has received more than 1,163 donations totalling over $41,000. It's the largest amount ever raised for the hospice via an online fundraising page. Sally Brighton, Director of Income Generation, has issued the following statement:
"Whilst the fundraising is amazing, we cannot lose sight of the tragedy of Tom's death. Ourthoughts are with his family, friends and fans at this desperately sad time. "We hope that all who loved him will find some comfort in seeing how many people have been moved to donate to Martlets. It is truly humbling. "The funds raised will help Martlets to continue providing hospice care for local people and their families when they need us most. We are extremely grateful for everyone's support."
