In an interview conducted by MikeJames RockShow this past weekend in England, Mastodon guitarist Bill Kelliher revealed that the Georgia progressive metal band will enter the recording studio this fall to begin tracking their next album, due out in 2017. Here is a portion of Kelliher had to say about the new album:

"With the eleven songs that we've recorded so far it's mostly been Brann [Dailor] and myself, I mean he lives down from the street from me, we grew up together and we wrote together... Once we get home, we're gonna pick up where we left off, but we're pretty well ahead of the curve. Like I said, there's about eleven, twelve solid ideas, all full songs that are there with vocals and everything... Our plan right now is to start recording in October... November."
