As Hope Dies calling it quits

Southern California's As Hope Dies will officially be disbanding later this year. Since forming in early 2002, the group has released an EP and a full-length, both with Undecided Records. Here's a statement from group vocalist David Richardson regarding their impending break-up: "Over the last few years we have had an amazing time doing this band writing, recording, and touring has all been fuckin great! And now I'm very sad to say that its already over, certain members in the band do not like the lifestyle of a touring band, and want more stability in there lives (being smashed in a van for a month and a half is rough on anyone). A core member has decided to leave and pursue other things, and it just does not feel right to do this band without him so we have decided to call it quits. I want to thank everyone who has ever helped us out on tour by booking a show, making us food, letting us sleep on there floor, or just being fuckin cool to us, thank you everyone for the support." The band will play several shows leading up to their "funeral show," which will take place on October 11th at the Chain Reaction in Anaheim, CA. Here's the schedule: 8/25 San Diego CA @ The Scene w/ A Life Once Lost 8/27 Salinas CA @ Jim Dandys w/ A Life Once Lost 8/29 Corona CA @ Showcase Theatre w/ A Life Once Lost 9/4 Anaheim CA @ Chain Reaction w/ Scars Of Tomorrow 9/7 Hollywood CA @ The Knitting Factory w/ Crematorium 10/11 Anaheim CA @ Chain Reaction w/ Taken
