Destroy The Runner reunite, crowdfunding new EP

California metalcore/post-hardcore band Destroy The Runner has announced plans to release a new EP this year, six years after breaking up. The recorded lineup will feature the group's four original members - Kyle Setter, Nick Maldonado, Marc Kohlbry and Duane Reed. Destroy The Runner had this to say:
"While we were working on our third release, a lot of factors got in the way, and ultimately led to the band's indefinite hiatus. We weren't certain if we'd ever make another record together again, but we knew that things didn't end the way we wanted them to. "Over the years that followed the release of Saints, the band faced obstacles that led to both member changes and ultimately to the hiatus. The changing music industry. The health of the band as a group. Differences of opinion regarding artistic direction. The need for financially sustainable careers. The pursuit of different goals such as education and family. But despite these things, the desire to make music together never left. "Now that we've had time to focus on these things - and as we approach the 10-year anniversary of Saints - the four of us decided that now would be the perfect time to make music together again. We've already started the writing process, and couldn't be more excited about how things are coming together."
The band hopes to raise $12,000 for the new EP. If you're interested in contributing, you can do so here.

anonymous 5/2/2016 1:02:22 PM

12,000 is offensive as fck. It costs maybe 2,000 for a solid ep. What are you going to do with the other 10? Male hookers. Stay in indefinite hiatus you self righteous jerks

"The changing music industry. The health of the band as a group. Differences of opinion regarding artistic direction. The need for financially sustainable careers. The pursuit of different goals such as education and family." So...every problem facing every band ever? But in your case for some reason, you think the world should hand you free money.

Verb a job

Nails would have that money crowd funded within 6 minutes, you jagons. They wouldn't need that thought because they're true to the core of music, since Jones invented ears and sounds.

Crowdfunding needs to stop. If you don't have enough of your own money to make a EP, then you shouldn't make one. If you have to set up a GoFraudMe (or it's equivalent), it's the universe telling you to give it up and go apply for a job at McDonald's.

They're almost at 2k after just 2 days. Eat shit shit eating homosexuals. They'll reach the target and surpass it with ease while you neckbeards continue to fail at life

Mike 5/3/2016 5:08:24 AM

Who?

anonymous 5/3/2016 3:23:48 PM

How does an EP cost 12k or is this one of those situations where the band will be paying themselves "wages" and living off the money the 6 months it takes to record 6 songs

This is so great. Verb The Noun is one of the funniest things I've read in ages. Thank you for that. (Slow claps). But yes, stop crowdfunding.

anonymous 5/4/2016 8:55:01 AM
