Most of the final lineup of defunct New Bedford, MA band Have Heart has resurfaced in a new punk hardcore outfit called Free. Featuring 4/5's of Have Heart circa 2009, including Patrick Flynn, Kei Yasui, Shawn Costa, and Ryan Hudon, in addition to Austin Stemper, the group has uploaded a four-track demo that was recorded by Trevor Vaughan (Sex Positions, Soul Control) in New Bedford.

Did they exclude the member that sold out? Should just call it Have Heart 2.0, kids will eat up. And then they can repress all their old stuff with 2.0 on it and get more money. Then again, Bridge 9 is still milking The Things We Carry, 11th pressing just came out recently.
I'm sure they'll end up changing their name back to Have Heart, anyway, when they realize no one will care about this.

Googling to see if any widely known rock bands from the 70's already used the band name you were thinking of is overrated.
I am a surprised that the production on these tracks is such low quality considering that they drove half way across the Union to record it.

The only Free that matters was the one with Paul Rodgers and Paul Kossoff (RIP). Hate it when bands are too lazy and/or disrespectful to even consider the fact that they are using the name of a band that existed long before them and will continue to be remembered long after they are forgotten.
