Affiance to crowdfund new EP, seek $10,000

After releasing three albums with Bullet Tooth, Ohio metal band Affiance has chosen to self-release their next record. As such, the group has launched an Indiegogo campaign through which they're seeking $10,000 to fund a new EP. Affiance summarizes their decision in this manner: "There has been a strong movement in recent years to cut out the middleman. Money goes from the fans to the band and the band reciprocates with quality music. This relationship makes so much more sense! We believe that this is the future of music." You can find more details and/or contribute here.

$50,000 - If we raise this amount, it would not only be 5 times the amount asked, it would be enough to make this EP a full length album!

So the future of music is the fans paying for studio/pressing expenses and then paying again for the finished product?

anonymous 10/30/2015 10:35:52 PM

lmao a little late to start careers in your 40s. may as well go all in and see if your fans (if any) can bail you out. music is shit btw fail story.

The problem: no legitimate label would sign us. The solution: have our fans gives us 10k to shit out 4 or 5 songs from relatively cheap studio our friends own.

anonymous 11/1/2015 6:42:36 AM

At what point did this band ever generate $10,000 worth of income?

anonymous 11/1/2015 8:58:49 AM

This band should actually be commended for not evolving at all and writing exactly the same music over and over since it was popular in the 80's

anonymous 11/1/2015 10:57:03 AM

Do you accept bits of string?

anonymous 11/1/2015 2:35:28 PM

Oh fck. For $350 I can get a tattoo and have them hang out with me at the tattoo shop. Sounds like a pretty fckin cool time!

anonymous 11/2/2015 8:51:56 AM

This is like the time they raised money for plane tickets to go on a UK tour that they immediately came home from.

anonymous 11/2/2015 10:07:29 AM

I guess these losers have no shame

anonymous 11/2/2015 10:53:49 AM

If this band didn't spend all their money on extremely stupid shit they might actually have the funds to gee i dont know.... make their own album??..."being in a band has left us broke" join the fcking party kids, nobody feels bad for you or wants your tattoo dates. Payed 350 to make a life decision with a band who couldn't afford to make music but could totally afford tattoos and bizarre merch incentives. sick. \m/
