Patrick Cimato (aka Rick Cimato), drummer for defunct New York metal/hardcore band Locked In A Vacancy, was killed in an automobile accident early Wednesday morning.
According to police, Cimato was involved in a head-on collision in Meriden, CT after the driver of another vehicle left his lane and entered Cimato's. Both drivers were killed, and two passengers were injured.
Cimato, of Lisbon Falls, Maine, was 37 years old.
The band has subsequently issued the following:
"Today we mourn the loss, and celebrate the life of Rick Cimato. The time we all spent with him will always be treasured, and held close to each of our hearts. May he look down and smile at the outpouring of love. 'May the music we make let us live forever.'"
