Carcass reportedly recording new album

In the category of rumors we can't help but promulgate, Blabbermouth reports that seminal UK metal act Carcass has been in the studio as of late recording a new album, their first in some 17 years. Here's what Blabbermouth says:
Reactivated British extreme metal legends CARCASS are rumored to be putting the finishing touches on a new studio album with acclaimed producer Colin Richardson (FEAR FACTORY, MACHINE HEAD, NAPALM DEATH, SLIPKNOT). The band has yet to secure a label home for the effort, which is expected in early 2013. Guitarist Michael Amott and drummer Daniel Erlandsson, who have been touring with CARCASS since the band's reunion was announced in 2007, are no longer involved with the group due to scheduling conflicts with their main band, ARCH ENEMY. Joining guitarist Bill Steer and bassist/vocalist Jeff Walker in the studio for the new CD recording sessions was drummer Matthias Voigt of German death metal and hardcore fusionists HEAVEN SHALL BURN.

two back burner members featuring some shitty metal core drummer. Will be thrown in the garbage pile just like the new decapitated and morbid angel

john_doe 11/29/2012 12:10:12 PM

i love carcass, but they must really be hard up for money.

ineedsalt 11/29/2012 12:11:16 PM

they arent hard up, they have been paid well since their reunion. will listen...maybe

MarginError 11/29/2012 12:11:35 PM

LOL @ calling them back-burner.

MarginError 11/29/2012 12:13:30 PM

I think the past 10 years have shown us in great detail that new albums don't pay, regardless of who you are.

I for one am stoked (as long as their MDF set does not contain more than two new songs). Autopsy's record ruled last year after the long hiatus, I have similar hopes for this.

don't know how i feel about this. i have been in love with carcass since i was 14. i am now 27. heartwork was ok but after that they fell off hard. don't know if they got anything good left in them

ineedsalt 11/29/2012 2:32:00 PM

i dont care how old you are, im not a bouncer asking for ID but seriously, heartwork = ok? you must be smoking some sticky icky

anonymous 11/29/2012 5:23:20 PM

I wonder how much Ammott was responsible for the memorable riffs. Will be interesting to see without him.

anonymous 11/29/2012 5:56:49 PM

Heartwork is the album that all the other terrible bands that fill this site kill themselves trying to emulate and fail misrably each and every time. The solos in Carnal Forge are among the greatest in Metal history. Sidenote: Remember when FDH covered No Love Lost?

NECROTRICISM DESCANTING THE INSALUBRIOUS was the best carcass album ever. I bet none of you fcking gays who think you "like" death metal have never even heard symphonies of sickness.

anonymous 11/30/2012 4:15:10 AM

This has zero chance of being good.

anonymous 11/30/2012 6:03:27 AM

heartwork and swansong fcking sucked. everything before those two albums is awesome. i mean fck. necroticism was amazing. then they went metalcore.

anonymous 11/30/2012 7:53:37 AM

they didnt go metalcore, they created metalcore
