Parkway Drive recording new album

Official press release: Parkway Drive are currently bunkered down in a Los Angeles studio hard at work on their fourth album. The as-yet-untitled effort is the follow-up to 2010's phenomenally successful Deep Blue, which debuted #39 in the US on the Billboard 200, #2 in Australia, as well as reaching solid Gold and winning the ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock and Metal Album. The recording is due to take seven weeks, which is the longest time the band has spent on any album. Production is being overseen by Matt Hyde, whose vast resume includes Slayer, Sum 41, Alkaline Trio, Hatebreed and Children of Bodom. Parkway Drive vocalist Winston McCall says new material flowed easily in the wake of Deep Blue, which saw the group tap a rich vein of creativity. "When we finished Deep Blue I was like, 'I don't know where we go from here?' But if there was ever a way to step up from the last record, this is the way to do it," McCall says. "We're expanding in every way we can. But at the same time – and I say this with every new record – it still sounds like Parkway." Stay tuned for title, artwork, and tracklisting details in the coming weeks.

How can anyone stand to listen to this garbage after they released that home is for the heartless song? Please come do a full us tour right when the zombie apocalypse happens so I can rub one out while zombies gang eat this entire band and their followers.

Stupid_News_Poster 7/12/2012 8:45:53 AM

Joe Barresi produced Deep Blue. Hopefully the production is better because Deep Blue is unlistenable.

16 yr old me is doing back flips

cgrind3000 7/12/2012 10:38:40 AM

More like Shartgay Five. But I did like their first two albums, Deep Blue didn't cut it for me

duckduckfootloose 7/12/2012 11:59:18 AM

Thank goodness they found that rich creativity vein.

anonymous 7/12/2012 6:19:59 PM

br0kenhymen 7/13/2012 1:56:43 PM

Still the most intense band I've ever seen that wasn't poser-shit (not that I should be admitting to seeing poser shit). Broken noses left and right during Romance Is Dead. Always love this band.

anonymous 7/14/2012 8:07:01 AM

Sweet news..the only metalcore band that doesnt suck now days.

anonymous 7/14/2012 9:38:54 AM

Love these boys. and Deep blue was their best album to date, followed very closely by horizons. Joe Barresi produced a beast of a record, and for all you nitwits, he has a pretty astounding resume, including albums for isis and tool.

anonymous 7/15/2012 5:42:37 AM

"who gives a fck?" apparently you do for clicking and reading

anonymous 7/15/2012 8:15:51 AM

Killing With a Smile and Horizons were both solid and I like to pretend Deep Blue never happened, but I hope this album doesn't suck because I still like these motherfckers.

anonymous 7/19/2012 7:00:17 AM

good to see metalcore has some good bands still left. Unearth headlining that whatsits tour was unearthly, lets see a headlining tour that will consist of solid hardcore and metalcore acts not crap like that Bring Me The Horizon band they toured with last year.
