French metal outfit Betraying the Martyrs (Sumerian Records) have announced the addition of former My Autumn drummer Mark Mironov to their lineup. Mironov replaces departed drummer Antoine Salin. Here's the official word:
"Antoine was with us since the beginning of the band. If you ever met him on a show you know he was totaly into music and always ready to do crazy stuff. After three years of touring he told us he was tired and wanted to have a more stable life. We completely understand that, from the bottom of our heart we wish him the best. He was there during the hard years and faced with us all the difficulties a band encounter. Antoine, we will miss you.
"As for Mark Mironov, we met him and his band My Autumn 3 years ago in Belgium. We became friends, 2 years later we toured together in Europe, went to Russia, Ukraine.... Mark is one of the best drummers we've ever met. When Antoine told us he wanted to stop, we asked Mark. He said 'yes' and left his country to live and play with us. We can't wait for you to meet him and see him play live, in the meantime you can enjoy this video of Mark playing Man Made Disaster (below). And for the fans of My Autumn, the band is still alive and is currently practicing with a new drummer."
