Silverstein has entered the studio to record material for a new release. The band is once again working with producer Jordan Valeriote (Dead and Divine, Structures) to track roughly twenty-two songs, each under 90 seconds. Appropriately, the new effort will be titled "Short Songs" and is tentatively slated for a January 2012 release.
Silverstein drummer Paul Koehler comments: "Instead of waiting for our next proper album, we decided to start writing new material for this and it came together quicker than any album before. Short Songs is an extension of Rescue, and a further channeling of our influences in our own material. We're writing the music that we like, and get to showcase it in this creative way."
Among the songs will be a handful of covers, including selections from NOFX, Green Day, and the Descendants.
