Official press release:
Founded in Astoria, Queens in 1983 Murphy's Law are huge part of the New York and American hardcore legacy. Their albums, such as the self-titled, "Murphy's Law" and the 1989 follow-up "Back With A Bong" helped create the sound of New York Hardcore back then, as well as what it stands for today.
In 2008 their legacy even lead to the use of the song "A Day In A Life" (from the band's debut) in the Liberty City Hardcore radio station on the Rockstar video game "Grand Theft Auto IV".
Murphy's Law never abandoned the Hardcore scene or their fans. During this extensive career Jimmy Gestapo stayed true to his scene earning him & the band the name of one of NYHC's all time favorites.
Now, after years of the entire Murphy's Law catalog being unavailable, we're very proud to announce that I Scream Records will be re-releasing the complete discography:
"Murphy's Law" (originally released in 1986), "Back With A Bong" (originally released in 1989), "The Best Of Times" (originally released in 1991), "Dedicated" (originally released in 1996) and "The Party's Over" (originally released in 2001).
Each re-issued album will feature previously unreleased bonus tracks, new artwork and will be available on CD, digitally (for the first time ever) as well as on full length vinyl. Prior to each street date we'll offer a few limited pre-order bundles containing the CD, a limited 7", t-shirts and much more!
As if this wasn't great enough by itself, all these re-releases are leading up to the release of a long-awaited new Murphy's Law studio album, which will be hitting stores worldwide in 2011!
In a day and age where faux-hawks and eyeliner are sadly enough considered to be the new Hardcore generation by some, it's time for Murphy's Law to set the record straight!
Jimmy Gestapo says "They say good things come to those who wait. As for myself, the band and our fans, we have waited a long time and are now rewarded with a deal with I Scream Records. Re-releases with added surprises and, yes, finally a new full length record. Stay on the lookout for cool colored limited edition vinyl and great new merch as well. Finally for all you computer geeks the entire ML catalog will be available on iTunes. Let the games begin!! Again..."
