Kemado to 'devote itself entirety to heavy music'

Official press release: Renowned for bringing such metal maniacs as The Sword and Saviours to the world's attention while also leading the indie-rock pack, Kemado Records kicks off 2011 by announcing its decision to devote itself entirely to heavy music. Specifically, the label begins the year with a stellar array of one-off, limited edition vinyl releases (also available digitally), representing a superb, diverse sampling of the heavy spectrum. Kemado's Jess Rotter explains: "Heavy music has always been a true passion for us and we are stoked to restructure the Kemado label with a solid focus for a genre that has inspired us greatly. We have some really exciting records and re-releases coming upwards and onwards that we can't wait to share." The new plan enables the label to delve deeper than ever into the recesses of heavy music and to offer fans a steady diet of new releases each month. Kemado sets it off with three tremendous releases in January, showcasing the scope of the label's new vision: January 25 - Xasthur - Portal of Sorrow (2x LP/MP3) January 25 - Danava/Earthless/Lecherous Gaze (split 12"/MP3) January 25 - Electric Voyage - Flight of No Return (7"/MP3) January is just the beginning. Kemado has a full year of heavy music ahead, in the form of limited vinyl and digital releases. Coming up are new releases by True Widow, Spiders, Zond, and Futur Skullz (ex-Weakling, Fucking Champs). A Kemado showcase is confirmed for SXSW in March. Meanwhile, sister label Mexican Summer will continue purveying music outside the metal realm.
