Opeth to enter studio in July

Sweden's Opeth has booked time in Nacksving Studios in Sweden for the recording of an upcoming double release. Fredrik Nordstrom, who has worked with the band before, will be producing and mixing the effort. Recording is slated to begin on July 22nd, and it should be noted that this is the same studio Opeth used for their "Still Life" album. Speaking of "Still Life," Peaceville Records will be releasing a vinyl version housed in a gatefold sleeve later this month. In related news, Music For Nations will be releasing a special edition of Opeth's last album "Blackwater Park" later this year. The release will feature and additional CD consisting of two new tracks, plus roughly five minutes of enhanced material from the album's recording session. Also look for slightly altered artwork from Travis Smith, who was also responsible for the original album's art. In touring news, the band is scheduled to appear at several festivals this Summer all over Europe. Additionally, they will be hitting the road in the UK later this month with Arch Enemy.
