Alabama's Takehold Records has now joined forces with Tooth & Nail Records. Rumors have been circulating about this deal for some time, but things are official now. Although Takehold isn't necessarily "merging" with Tooth & Nail, they have licensed most of their titles to T&N for marketing and distribution as Takehold owner, Chad Johnson, goes to work for T&N. So what will happen to Takehold you may be asking? Here's what the label has to say about it: "In detail, this is yet to be seen. For the meantime, I [Chad Johnson] will be working full-time on the transition over to T&N as well as working with the Takehold artist roster to assist in anything they need. Make no mistake (our president's favorite phrase), plans are in the works to still run Takehold in some form or fashion. The question is more at what capacity than anything else. We'll keep you posted on the progress and specific plans as they become available." We're not totally sure what all of this means, but Chad will be packing up his stuff and moving to Seattle, where Tooth & Nail is headquartered. In case you're wondering, Furnace Fest will still be happening.
