Every Time I Die & Epitaph make it official

Official press release: Epitaph Records is proud to confirm the worst kept secret of 2009, the signing of one of hardcore-rock's most notorious bands Every Time I Die. With the ink on the contract barely dry, the band is eager to enter the studio this spring to record their debut for the label, which is expected for release this fall. "To be given the opportunity to start anew after existing for over ten years in an environment that has chewed up and spit out most bands in a quarter of that time is nothing short of a miracle" says vocalist Keith Buckley. "We are extremely honored and humbled by the faith that our new family at Epitaph has placed in us to continue writing music that is true to ourselves and true to our supporters. While most bands are looking for their 15 minutes of fame, Every Time I Die knows that Epitaph is the ONLY label where the soil is fertile enough for punk/rock bands to thrive on the ethics that got them started and we are proud to hang our hats within their walls. Our first Epitaph release will be recorded this spring with Steve Evetts and thus far is proving to capture the excitement of our new lease on life and the aggressive energy we are notorious for. See you in hell, otherwise known as the road." Buckley, along with founding members Jordan Buckley (guitar), Andy Williams (guitar), Mike Novak and newcomer Josh Newton (bass), have been slinging their nasty brand of southern rock infused, sweat drenched metal for the past decade, releasing classic hardcore albums like Gutter Phenomenon, Hot Damn! and Big Dirty and touring the world over multiple times. "Their brazenly original amalgam of rock 'n roll and ironic aesthetics always reminds me of LA's dangerous, burgeoning hardcore scene I grew up in," adds Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz. "Maybe that's why they've long been my favorite contemporary American hardcore band. Having the opportunity to work with them is a dream come true."

"releasing classic hardcore albums like Gutter Phenomenon, Hot Damn! and Big Dirty..." No mention of Last Night in Town

keepitwolfson 2/11/2009 5:17:22 PM

last night in town>hot damn>gutter>dirty they might have gotten progressively worse of the years but i still love em

HBDad 2/11/2009 5:17:46 PM

adds Epitaph owner Brett Gurewitz. "Maybe that's why they've long been my favorite contemporary American hardcore band." Not playing favorites or anything...

m_kwd 2/11/2009 5:19:02 PM

they are more hardcore than "hardcore" bands are today, that is a fact. people forget where they started. i haven't like them in years, but Hot Damn is still a classic.

likeatonabricks 2/11/2009 5:34:21 PM

Last night in town = Best ETID album ever. Cant wait to hear the new jams.

Garbage band. I can't believe people jock them.

drewcifer 2/11/2009 9:04:34 PM

Josh Newton was in Shiner! and also played in Unsane for a short period.

marching_band_rules 2/11/2009 10:58:23 PM

how were they not a hardcore band? they spent over half their career so far in the hardcore scene playing to hardcore kids. that said, the operative word here is WERE. and so begins the slow decline. love the first two full lengths always though.

tits_or_gtfo 2/11/2009 11:10:37 PM

Why is Lambgoat slowly turning into /b/?

kniferevenge 2/11/2009 11:14:36 PM

I couldn't be more proud of these guys. They deserve all the best.

appreesh 2/12/2009 2:55:25 AM

gotta admit, im less than surprised on this one. the formula is as follows: sign to a label, succeed, produce a following, succeed more, get signed by epitaph, get milked for all youre worth, stick around for ten years and not do much else, break up.

conduit 2/12/2009 3:59:25 AM

more generic shitty breakdowns please

Never got this band. "Last Night In Town" was alright, but nothing special.

al_czervik 2/12/2009 12:18:11 PM

the big dirty isn't a classic hardcore record at all. does this mean they can all buy their own houses now?

mitchfury 2/12/2009 12:39:40 PM

HEADS WILL ROLL!!!!! .....chicago!

emoxfag 2/12/2009 1:11:58 PM

remember when this band ruled? it was called burial plot bidding war. then. they sucked.

threexs 2/12/2009 1:37:46 PM

band is awesome forever. fight me.

clock_watch 2/12/2009 1:56:22 PM

releasing classic hardcore albums like Gutter Phenomenon, Hot Damn! and Big Dirty ok, so just totally skip over the cd that put them on the map, LNIT

Dyami_LIAV 2/12/2009 2:08:24 PM

Yeah, it speaks volumes that "Burial Plot Bidding War" and "Last Night In Town" weren't even mentioned in this press release. I guess the likelihood of ever hearing material along those lines from these guys again is nil :(

Penis_Parfait 2/12/2009 4:07:13 PM

I guess its normal they don't talk about Last Night In Town because their other records sold more copies than this one. Also, I like the Big Dirty more than anything they did before. I never liked ETID but this record has some good rockin songs.

ted_nuge 2/12/2009 4:40:59 PM

Good band. gays are jealous because these dudes worked their ass off over 10 years and is finally reaping the rewards. Sit at home all day on lambgay or go work your ass off and make money. You know who you are....

Turd_Ferguson 2/12/2009 5:54:02 PM

fck You LAMbgOAT

Turd_Ferguson 2/12/2009 5:56:15 PM

Dude I hate Black Metal kids who have nothing better to do than bitch about bands that came from the same underground that are just more sucessful than their favorite bands.

Turd_Ferguson 2/12/2009 5:58:03 PM

successful* fck YOU. I used to fck the HELL out of my girlfriend to The Logic of Crocodiles. This was like 6 years ago when you were listening to DISTURBED.

murderface 2/13/2009 11:55:13 AM

It's getting hard to take LG serious, gays pump Trash Talk and then talk shit on ETID, I'm not a fan anymore, but seriously...

xavengerx 2/13/2009 7:37:50 PM

ETID are funny guys... I don't know if they're Hardcore or not... but as they're fcking hilarious, they deserve a little piece of my respect.
