Guns Up! cancels European shows

Guns Up! has cancelled their scheduled European trip. Here's a statement from the band: "For those of you wondering if we are in fact playing May 31 in Dublin, and June 1 in Leeds, this is to inform you that we are not. This is a trip that we were all looking forward to, and were preparing for. "About a month and a half ago, when we announced we were playing Sound and Fury 2008, a UK promoter contacted us about playing 1 or 2 shows in the UK prior to that. The stipulation was that the promoter would fly us over, and seeing as we still have a few outstanding debts as a band that we would like to clear up, we saw this as a good way to A) hang out with each other, as that gets harder and harder to do working full-time jobs and living apart, and B) pay off some of those debts. "Fast forward to about 3-4 weeks ago, and the promoter still had not purchased our plane tickets. The promoter let us know that he was now a considerable amount short of cash to buy these tickets. This had us worried as we're all needing to schedule time off of work (and school) and felt it not prudent to do so without having the plane tickets bought and in-hand. As of now, the plane tickets remain unpurchased despite assurances (more than a few) that we would have the tickets purchased 'tomorrow.' "So, factoring in things like work and school, and the plans that we need to make in order make this trip happen, we have no other choice but to inform you that we will not be able to make it over to the other side of the pond for the planned shows."
