It Prevails goes on hiatus

It Prevails has announced plans to go on hiatus following several problematic developments. According to the group, "It Prevails is simply going to resign from being a full-time band at the moment. Call it a hiatus, if you must." Chief among the aforementioned developments is the departure of drummer Aaron Marsh. Frontman Ian Fike explains: "After four years, Aaron Marsh has decided to leave It Prevails and not continue to tour with us any longer. For those who know and for the people who dont, touring and being in a full time band is one of the most dangerous financial and mental positions to put yourself in. Constantly digging your self out of debt between tours but still having to pay to live and eat on the road is a very hard thing to do, some people crack under this pressure. Aaron has." Meanwhile, the band has lost their rehearsal spot, parted ways with guitarist Jake Harris ("reasons are quite personal"), and is in to "debt up to our ears." Fike goes on: "All these reasons at hand force us to cancel both our Ligiea, Since The Flood, Unholy tour, and the Means, Farewell To Freeway, TWWK tour. Yes it sucks, but let's get this straight. We are not breaking up and we are putting out another record! But some other bad news, it will not be released on Rise Records. We are funding the recording and art direction ourselves and it will be out before year's end, you have my word. But it may only be released by ourselves. We’'ll figure it out as it nears. "We are also going to do one more run in both Canada and the U.S.A. starting August 10th until mid -September with our good friends Carry the Torch. Along with other bands, these tours will be announced soon. But please consider this our last and final US jaunt, so anyone interested in ever seeing us close to you again, go to these shows! "We are looking for a new drummer to replace Aaron so interested parties please reply. We will also be putting up a few new songs from our next record, they are in pre-production stages (decent demos) but hey, it's new, so shutup ;) They will be up in the coming weeks. "As for now, I hope not everyone has lost faith in us, we will continue to carry this band."
