The Handshake Murders cancel tour dates

The Handshake Murders has cancelled a handful of upcoming tour dates as a result of financial difficulties, among other things. Here's a statement from guitarist Bryan Evans: "We've never done this within our entire touring career, but the unthinkable must take place. We are having to cancel our upcoming tour with With Blood Comes Cleansing and A Plea For Purging as well as our Texas dates with A Plea For Purging. The reasons just kept piling up on us within the past two weeks. Here are some of the reasons I can actually go into: 1. We're low on merch and have too many standing debts to merch companies - nothing outrageous, but we're definitely not in the financial stance to let it keep piling on. We are out of several sizes of designs and basically we cannot reorder. 2. The band is in quite a large financial slump due to credit card debt and minimum payments stacking. This is from getting the band off the ground in the past, merch orders, CD pressing, etc. If you're in a band, you know about this. 3. We're working on relationships within the band. it's amazing what nonstop touring can do to 5 friends. 4. We were promised by tour management that we'd receive at least a certain said amount each night, and this promise was broken when we received the profit breakdown. we would've been completely stoked about doing the tour anyway if it weren't for the first two reasons I just stated about our debts. I will add, though, that the tour management tried to resolve this problem. 5. My guitar head is in the shop for repairs and could not get fixed in time. 6. Jeff no longer has a bass head. having to borrow shit every night isn't cool. 7. There are other personal issues I don't feel at liberty to discuss. My biggest and sincerest apologies go out to everyone who planned on seeing us especially... all the fans we could've possibly made on this tour, all the promoters involved (especially you folks in Texas who were willing to throw something together last minute), and most importantly our apologies go to our friends in With Blood Comes Cleansing and A Plea For Purging for bailing out last minute. This is unprofessional, I do know. In the meantime, we will be trying to do some extensive songwriting for what will hopefully turn into a new record eventually. We're all stoked about writing, we've all got some different ideas. Hopefully we can tour out with some new songs by April, this is what we're aiming for."
