Conceived in late-1996 under the name Consense, Heaven Shall Burn recorded a demo nearly six months after its inception. The band would undergo several personnel changes before recording "The Second Tap" in mid-1997. With an updated line-up, HSB played numerous shows and festivals, honing their craft for their maxi-CD, "In Battle...," which would be published by Deeds of Revolution Records in late-1998. Following the release, the band would recruit a new guitarist to complete the band's most current line-up. In late-1999, Deeds of Revolution would release a split-LP featuring Heaven Shall Burn and Fall of Serenity. At this point, the band would move to the Impression Records roster, releasing its official third effort, "Asunder." Meanwhile, Lifeforce Records (The Year of Our Lord, Darker Day Tommorrow) would also play an integral role for HSB, as the label would handle record distribution outside of Europe. HSB would also participate in another split CD with Caliban in mid-2000. The unit's latest effort, "Whatever It May Take," has been released through Lifeforce/Impression Records. Playing an amalgam of metal and hardcore, HSB's sound has drawn comparisons to Earth Crisis, At The Gates, the Haunted, and even Bolt Thrower. Lyrically, the band addresses numerous political, social, and cultural issues, challenging listeners to reevaluate their lives. Fans of European influenced metalcore should check out one of Europe's premier acts. read less
