What should they progress to? Death Metal? Unfortunately there are very few Death Metal bands that are doing anything original or remotely different from the rest of the genre. If you aren't Immolation, Decrepit Birth, Amon Amarth or Enslaved your probably just as generic as all the other bands in any genre of metal, boring.
f*ck this..heavy as shit bar anything else..i like tech just as much as the next guy but that doesn't necessarily mean its good music. breeding violence and programmed to hate offer just as much as anything off of either of the previous albums. could just be a different approach to writing that didn't work out as well as the public would've hoped..

Whitechapel have really impressed me with this release. I find it to be a staggering return to form after the disappointment that was This is Exile. I forsee a North American tour with One Life Crew and Arghoslent in the cards.

Wow... Where to start? This record has brought me closer to brightening the eclipse that the artistic side of my brain has been experiencing as of late. Such poetic force, driven home by almost soulful crying of the instrument known so lovingly as the "guitar". 4/10? I think not, 9/10 perhaps due to the sheer love my life now encompasses, a direct result of these hard working, integrity filled, musicians known as White Chapel. Funny, I though this was easily the best deathcore album ever recorded or close to. The review is a f*cking joke by someone obviously wanting to be cool by refusing to acknowledge t. To the poster pretending to be from Whitechapel, Tower and Virgin have been gone for years and ONLY have a web presence!

Great review, it mirrors my opinion to a T. They had a great formula going with the Exile album, from production to mixing to actual riffs. Then they decide to go to that overrated sack of shit producer and I guess decided they didnt have to write cool riffs because, well, when you're paying a producer 1K per hour, you don't have too. This album = total garbage, which is a shame.
Hows does this get a 4 and Ceremony get a 7? The scenster kids in flannel, earth friendly anarcho pants and crusty vans love this site.
It's gotten to the point where I don't even know what's a gimmick in these comments anymore. Also: Saying this album is uninspired dross is like holing up in your bastufft during a hurricane and calling everyone you know to tell them it's raining outside.

This musical entity known as "White Chapel" has become increasingly erotic to me. The core of death or so to speak "Death Core" sends almost electric sensations flying through my jittery spine. Like that lonely beach ball slapping so lovingly against that open ocean tide. I am now truly at home.

I liked the songs but the production is f*cking terrible.
this review is 100% accurate. whitechaples first two releases were pretty good, and this album is a dumbed down version of this is exile. i honestly heard the same breakdowns on this album, that was on this is exile, along with the same recycled drum parts, and chugs LOL. I really thought they'd actually put out a DM album but no. The only cool thing about this album is Chino's guest appearance.
f*ck deathcore. When did what genre a band falls into become more important than the music they make? gays. I loved this album. Hell, I found it better than This Is Exile and that's one of my favorite metal albums ever.

hey, i actually think this band is decent. i actually produce and make this kind of music. i guess that's why no one goes to my shows anymore. maybe metalcore and deathcore really is dying out.
Whitechapel has always sucked you f*cking idiots. "lead the pack in modern deathcore"? Are you a gay hipster like the rest? Wow: 1. Way to jump on the bandwagon, 2. Modern deathcore is called "deathcore" or "gaycore" 3. If anything TAS leads the "modern deathcore" scene because they started the trend.
Whitechapel is amazing. The new album is great work! Big al, did u really just say that TAS is leading the Deathcore genre?.... You do know there needs to be a hint of death to say your deathcore... TAS is nothing close to Death. No blasts, etc. You sure know your metal...

I agree with some of the reviewers ideas. For the most part i enjoy whitechapel, but this album lacked imagination. It was a short listen. That's my opinion anyway.
This is absolute bullshit and aged terribly. This album is a masterpiece and the author sounds like a pussy.
