Wow. This is a crazy album. I saw The Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza a good while ago, and they didn't have their shit together like this. This album is much much better than the one time I saw this band live, and it's almost as if this is a whole new band. I haven't heard any previous recordings from these guys, and the one performance that I saw made it hard to figure out what was going on. It just sounded like a shitty mess. So, I suppose the best way I can describe this album is a mix of Daughters and Ed Gein. Every song on this album is completely out of control, but in a good way. Tons of stop and start chaotic riffs, with some crazy breakdowns. I have to say that these guitarists are quite good at utilizing every part of the fretboard. It's hard to keep up with some of these riffs. Every now and then (especially at the beginning of "Cliff Burton Surprise") there are some silly rock moments, but the listener is quickly shifted into guitar chaos. As previously mentioned, there re quite a bit of moshy breakdowns throughout, but TTDTE manages to keep it a tad more interesting. After a while, it can get old to me, but it's good to hear a band at least attempting to be creative with their mosh parts. The song titles are ridiculous, but I suppose that's fairly typical of bands like this. The lyrics, however, seem to be quite personal. It would be nice if the vocalist tried to mix things up a bit. The midrange scream gets a bit monotonous, but it definitely fits the tone of the music. In my opinion, some of these songs could use a deeper growl on certain parts for the sake of dynamics. The production is quite decent, and very metal sounding. The guitars are a bit too far on the high-end for my tastes, but they are still crunchy. I would also like the bass to have a stronger presence in the mix. Bottom Line: Like I said before, this album is a chaotic, crazy ride. This isn't something that I could listen to very often, but I'll give credit where credit is due. I think these guys have done a good job of putting together an album to go with all the other tech/hardcore/metal albums out there. Fans of Ion Dissonance, Ed Gein, or Daughters would probably love this album.

jshaft37_ 9/12/2005 12:23:10 PM

how is this reviewer stupid? this is one of the best/most thorough LG review in a long time.

what_is_wrong_with_you_ 9/12/2005 12:30:30 PM

this review left very little to the imagination.

HB_Dad_ 9/12/2005 12:30:51 PM

The guy gave some okay comparisons, but the band this sounds most like (in fact, almost a complete ripoff sound-wise) is Ion Dissonance.

Clay from Monroe_ 9/12/2005 12:33:46 PM

great guys .. good cd 7/10 is a fair judgement ...but I saw these guys live and though they where ok ..you must have seen them on an off-night or a night when brad though he was more death than me ..haha ..can't want to see them again next month ..

Wayno_ 9/12/2005 12:39:44 PM

These guys HAVE got it together since the last time i paid attention to them. I own an ep to which this is a major improvement. Don`t get me wrong, I saw the Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza Eventually becoming what this album represents...it`s just they weren`t that before. Great progression, can`t wait to see what comes next.

Cory_ 9/12/2005 12:44:47 PM

Isn't this the same record with three extra songs? Didn't this just get reviewed a month ago? Weird.

horsecow_ 9/12/2005 12:47:44 PM

finally, a good review that's well written and not cliche. that being said, this CD f*cking pwns.

Ryan Mc_ 9/12/2005 2:49:44 PM

I don't care if they are good or not. From their band name to thier stupid song titles, you can tell these kids are a bunch of geeks no one invited to parties. There are very few groups who make this sound well (Locust, Reversal Of Man), but screamy noise punk is just another subgenera that is copied and pasted through out the scene. Next please.

chooch_ 9/12/2005 2:57:55 PM

Great cd. great guys. Utmost Southern destruction!

todayistheday_ 9/12/2005 3:09:54 PM

HAHAHAHAHA! damn. ole Ryan Mc got all personal about it, didn't he??

Minority Babble_ 9/12/2005 6:24:54 PM

You could have just said "this is stupid" then ranked it a 7/10 for no reason.

anonymous 9/12/2005 6:38:17 PM

good cd. they utilize the botch-originated, norma jean-overused, dischords far too often and most songs sound relatively alike. but it's a good cd nonetheless and a pretty good review.

anonymous 9/12/2005 7:45:36 PM

this band has the worst name

Kirby's Master_ 9/12/2005 8:37:05 PM

Ryan, on behalf of the band, i would like to apologize if we offended you in anyway. sometimes, guys like us play music for fun and that's why we need people like you who care way too much, to make up for our lack of giving a shit at all. now as far as never being invited to any parties, well that's just ridiculous. i can clearly remember my step-sister having a birthday party when i was 5 and i was more than welcome. one day when were playing in a town near you, maybe you could come by and let

PIG_DESTROYER_ 9/12/2005 10:43:37 PM

OHHHH SNAP!!!

a_hoarce_of_corse_ 9/13/2005 12:45:32 AM

Kirby's Master: funny, stinging remark. ...perfect example of a band caring too much and giving clever retorts to people like me wasting their time on a stupid website.

jca_ 9/13/2005 12:23:02 PM

delete this band based soley on the ridicusly stupid ass name

dudecore_ 9/13/2005 1:40:31 PM

this band is f*cking amazing!!!! really heavy ass breakdowns that go well with the off time sigs. a very talented and imaginative band who can utilize a lot of different styles and make an amazing album. THANK YOU TONY DANZA for a cd that will never get old

Indiana is Dead_ 9/13/2005 5:32:35 PM

Uh this bands demo came out like a year before Ion Dissonaces first CD came out. Sorry Canada you lost this one.

Axl_ 9/13/2005 6:43:35 PM

yea, canada, f*ck you.

Yo Bro_ 9/14/2005 4:07:09 PM

Wow, lots of comments! I think this band is great, and yeah the name is funny cuz they wanna have fun. Band names dont matter much to me, the Music does. This bands music is great, and yeah I love Ion Dissonance but Danza was doing this just as early as them. Keep it coming guys!

dis dick_ 9/15/2005 12:22:43 AM

ion and tony d are two completely differnt styles of tech. you ediots saying either band is ripping either one off ,, well your just f*cken stupid. By the way your also an ediot if your comparing ions new cd to this one cause theres more to come, understand?

kamikazegrind420_ 9/15/2005 1:50:23 AM

these boys have played the MS/TN area extensively since their inception. They always f*ckin' floor the venue and just about everyone inside. Many of the tracks may have been on the last release, but hey it's still a solid release. Good stuff. Just wish they would come to Hattiesburg more often.

Thom V_ 9/15/2005 4:17:36 AM

Any band that uses a sound clip from Army of Darkness is A-okay in my book. That aside, this band kicks major arse and I hope to see 'em live someday.

Liftmycurse_ 9/15/2005 9:16:38 AM

This has to be one of the shittest recordings i've ever heard. Production / mixing flat out sucks! I wasted money on a cd that i have to mess with the volume every f*cking song. If i were the band i'd go find the idiot that recorded this and whip his ass!

the other guy_ 9/15/2005 3:02:46 PM

yeah the cd could have been better but for a diy band and it bieng there first release its ok. by the way this band KILLS the cd live!

erick_ 9/15/2005 9:04:32 PM

ive been listening to the demo for bout a year now, and it never gets old, ever! many bands don't do that. can't wait to get the new one, tony danza tapdance is simply amazing

killingmachine_ 9/18/2005 10:19:27 PM

this cd is nothing new, it has been done before and there are many more out there like it. good band, good guys, but please, do something original.

Ric Dueby_ 9/19/2005 1:05:29 PM

SwampLord_ 9/29/2005 3:04:00 AM
