When they first toured in 2012, T-shirts were $25-$35 and I found it to be surprising. They had vinyl that was $30-$40.
Long-story short, I heard from someone who overheard band members talk how 'americans were fools and materialistic' so they jacked up prices to profit from all the kids who were buying tons of merch assuming this was a one-off.
I can't prove it but I'm not surprised by the possibility of truth. I guess they don't consider their brand of exploitation to be capitalism.
